The RegiisJoy R40S is exactly the same as other R40S devices you’ll find out there, but that just means it’s a great unit. This one comes in a translucent purple, giving it kind of ‘Gamecube’ reminiscent color scheme. The device does included a very bright magenta light that shines when it is charging; which meant I needed to put it away in a drawer while I slept, though this is a minor complaint.The vivid, crystal clear 3.5 inch screen looks amazing when playing retro titles in native 4:3. The controls offer a ton of flexibility and are remappable in the software. You should almost never find yourself unable to make a game work with the given layout.The included software is sleek, and the games are all organized well. There are a ton of retro games pre-loaded. It is lacking a ROMs from a few older systems, such as the Sega Master System, but adding custom ROMs is easy: just remove the included SD card, plug it into a PC and drop your ROMs into the folder for the requisite system. The built in software offers a ton of complex features, and this might be a better system for older kids, who won’t get lost in the layers of menus.All in all, this is a full-featured retro-gaming handheld that contains many hours of fun. For under $100, this is a tremendous value.

The R40S PRO graphics are really amazing although the screen is small and some games are not easy to see and play. For instance, the map on GTA is so small that it is very difficult to actually go to the target location. The audio is very good and the controls are fine. It is a little bit confusing when trying to navigate the menus and game selection at first. You have to press START and FN to quit most games, although the instructions do not say that. The game selection is amazing! There are over 3k games from Gameboy, almost 200 games from Nineteno64, over a thousand from Super Nintendo, 500 from Nintendo, 16 from Nintendo DS, over a thousand from Gameboy Advance, over 2 thousand from Game Boy Color, 450 from Super Famicom, 360 from PC Engine, almost 50 from Capcom, 33 from PSP, 23 from Playstation, 200 from NeoGeo, 260 from Game Gear, 6 from Dreamcast, over a thousand from Mega Drive, and thousands of other games from game designers that I am not familiar with. The games are popular games too. Mario Brothers, Bomberman, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, Lego Harry Potter, Bass Master, Barbie Vaca Adventure, Bust A Move, and many more. I am super impressed with the amount of real games on this handheld game console. Most of the game systems like this for this price are preloaded with cheapy little games, but these games are well known, very popular from major game design companies. It is rechargeable and seems to last a long time with each charge. The buttons and joysticks are good quality and do not feel cheapy. The back is slightly contoured so you can hold it easily. It is responsive and functions well, so long as you make sure to save and exit correctly, otherwise you can lose save files. Great little game system for a great value!

Very good retro handheld console. Says there are exactly 15,108 games installed across multiple generations. Screen is large, bright and clear. Quality of the plastic is good and has a decent weight to it.Not sure why they call this R40S Pro when its pretty much just an R36S. Even the internals inside says R36S as shown in my uploaded photo. Another thing, the product page says the battery is 3800mAh, when in fact, it is just 3000mAh as shown in my poto.Most of the buttons are loud, especially the triggers. No issues with the D-Pad and sticks. Theres only one speaker and it is right in the center. The sound quality is good, but would’ve been better if there were two.I’ve seen a video review of this same product online and for some weird reason, the copies I got have a cheap printed sticker on the back unlike the more professional looking one I seen on the video review. I’ve uploaded the difference as well.Overall, still a very good handheld thats great for wasting time on. Personally, I would look into other retro gaming handhelds because nowadays, it just seems like theres a new one every week.

The software it comes with is okay i guess. runs a little slow and starting a game takes a bit longer than i’d like. the games that come with it are pretty much the standard. after reading and watching other reviews it seems to be a reshell of an older emulation device.

It’s a palm sized device exactly like a game boy would be. The screen is crystal clear, buttons responsive, there are a thousand games inbuilt, but I’m yet to try the emulator options. So far so good will keep you updated

I do like it and it works really good nice quality have not tried all of the games but there was only two of the original Pokémon games which was the reason for getting it but all in all I’m still happy with purchase also it did come with the sD card I will update if anything changes edit: the system would not shut off until the battery died therefore could not use without charging and then letting it die return!

Like – games and relatively accurate. Not all games like some other similar devices…but the ones on here work. I only ran across a couple that didn’t work.Bad- battery indicator is not accurate. But the battery life is good. Light changes color when almost dead…buttons and overall feel is small but it is more convenient that lugging around a Switch.

I purchased this product twice and both time was a let down first time the game would freeze or glitch I could not get past the beginning of Rayman or through the Mario party game and most games do not even work the second time the box arrived in terrible condition and without a battery as if a bad part made it through the line save your money look for another seller on here

It’s definitely more confusing to operate then it looks, and most the games are pretty low quality. That being said, the screen is very nice HD and the color of the device is nice looking. It’s manufactured pretty well.

I was sent a used one with screen full of scratches and none of the games will save. It was like $80 for a used game system that looks like it’s been thrown around a couple of times.. and I can’t even save any of the games and it also didn’t come with any of the accessories that said it came with just the system itself and one SD card with the OS and games on it. so it’s kind of pointless and a waste of 80 bucks.

I bought the orange one and then bought two green ones for a friend and my sister. We all love them. I’m playing Pokémon Yellow for the first time and having an absolute blast. Guess we couldn’t afford the Pokémon games when I was a kid so getting to play them now is wonderful. It has vigilante 8 2nd offense for the Playstation which blew my mind, and it runs smoother than the actual Playstation did. All sorts of Mario games including my favorite: Super Mario World for the SNES. I’m absolutely thrilled with this thing. There are Xbox style grips you can buy as well, and also silicone skins for protection and faceplates that cover the buttons and screen when it’s pocketed. I absolutely love this thing.

Don’t get this game system, It comes from China and it suck!. I had mine for a week and had to send it back but I got it here in the US at a show. So I was able to return it fast to the buyer. The screen goes black and never comes back on. A lot of these handheld games that come from China are very bad and break very easy. Its lazy work and they are not build to last. Unless its made from America or Japan don’t get it. Always read the reviews like this to see what others have to say about it. If you order it from China and try to return it you will never get your money back.

I just purchased this item. The console heats up a lot when charging. It is a big issue that the battery does not last longer. It drops 25% within seconds of unplugging from charger. They say its a 3800 mah but that is not true in my case. It is sad when the console ive been anticipating turned out to be a defective dud.Games/ game play: I instantly reviewed all the game systems and available games on them. The PlayStation and PlayStation portable have very limited games although they do play very well with minimum lag. I found 99% of the games from my childhood so the nostalgia factor was there big time and the system is set up that it is easy to navigate. I did experience lag with some of the games such as Metal Slug six especially during the action scenes with lots of gunfire and explosions.There are lots of Japanese and Chinese language games, which makes it hard to navigate the various menus and you sort of have to just blindly click through the options until you get to the section you want. Out of the 30,000 games over 80% of them are ROM copies and in different language. Don’t let this take away from the nostalgia factor I mentioned earlier they still have most of the great games with the arcade Classics, sega, super nintendo and Neo Geo being filled up with all the great games!!Console quality and overall feel: the buttons are very crisp. They click very well although the console does feel cheap in hand. THE SPEAKERS ON THIS CONSOLE ARE AMAZING. THE SOUND COMES THROUGH VERY NICE AND THE POSITIONING AND LOCATION OF THE SPEAKER PROVIDES GREAT SOUND QUALITY WHILE PLAYING THE GAMES. While playing things will creek and it doesn’t feel too sturdy. Also huge issue after about 20 to 30 minutes of gameplay the inner knuckles of my hand, begin to have aches and pains from the way that the console is poking me while handling it. It’s not very comfortable in the hand. But maybe my hands are just too big for this console. I was looking to get the old game boy color feel while playing it. With the battery percentage, jumping around and not being able to charge all the way it’s proven itself to be not very reliable.Overall, I would like to say if I got a console that was not defective I would’ve probably gave this a 3.7- 4 star review. To recap most of the games I was looking for from my childhood were in this console. The button feel is very crisp and the clicking is perfect. The system is easy to use out of the box and a set up for most users. Great sound quality very loud speakers. They were great with the retro music from the various games. The console sometimes may creek or make weird noises in the hand making it feel a bit cheap and low quality. The screen is very bright and makes it very nice to play the games. If you get the console without a battery defect, then it’s worth your money, if not then you are out of luck!

Had this item for 6 months and barely used it. After sometime it stopped showing the menu screen and just displayed a black lit up screen with no sound. Tried to figure out my options to fix this issue and there were none. Was fun while it lasted but not worth losing all your saved content on games.

This is now the second time buying this product but from another seller and I am very disappointed as I used it once, let sit for a week and went to go back to use and game system will not turn back on. Let sit on a charger for 2 days just to make sure the battery was not dead but sadly the game system is dead and cannot use.

I was very excited to get this as I had a couple of trips in the future at the time. Once i received the unit everything was great, I played for a few hours and then charged the unit. After a couple hours charging i had an error on the screen. I reached out to customer service via messaging on NiceShine. They gave me a tip and i was able to get it up and running for a day or so. But then i got another error, even though the device was powered on the screen was black. So i requested a replacement. I returned the old device and received the new one. After on day the new device did the same thing. Powered on but no video output.I would avoid purchasing this device. Don’t get your hopes up. Im now returning my second device. Bummer!!

Well worth it. Screw what these others talking about. The trick is lower the display lighting to 20%. That fixes the power issue. Everytime you choose a different game. Lower the display light. It reset to 100%.

For users that are not game savvy, games are not necessarily straightforward in their objectives and controls (not easy to use).I only got to use mine a couple times making sure to charge it each time, after a full charge and not turning it on for about four days it died, and I was able to recharge it and turn it back on.After three days of no use, it died again, completely, and malfunctioned and no longer works.By that time, it was past my 30 day return mark and thus I’m stuck with an unusable device.Has old school graphics which I loved, portable, but overall $79.99 is not a good value for your money.Could’ve purchased it for $20 through another add I seen online but I went with NiceShine instead.
