To expand/open the can, just expand, put out the sides to ensure secure, then flip down the bottom. This can has a scraper that is "attached" by magnets, making it super easy to grab, use and put back. The only reason for the four vs five stars is, that I do not like that the front of the can is pretty much completely see through - I would have preferred it be cloudy or not see through at all, as who wants to see garbage and/or a garbage bag.

    Liked the concept, hated the product.I arrived broken(cheap material) and when I did the returned they sell say they would return my money but they didn’t want me to send it back. There wasn’t any instructions showing how to put it together. trial and error.
