This is perfect for when I am traveling. I think it could be slightly smaller and lighter, but I won’t complain about that too much. My one reservation is whether I am going to be able to keep the nozzle clean enough, as it does not seem to be possible to disassemble it for cleaning. So far it seems to rinse out clean relatively easily, though.I was slightly skeptical, but I have made half a dozen espressos so far, and it is every bit as good as those I get from my Nespresso machine. Here are a couple of tips:If you have trouble with grip, such as if you have arthritis, you will probably find it too hard to squeeze the pump. It takes about 20 or 30 pumps to get a full shot, and you need to do this twice, because you need to do it once with plain hot water to warm everything up.Speaking of warming up, if you do not run boiling water through the machine once before making a shot, your espresso will be cold. I recommend heating up your cup as well. If you have used a Nespresso machine, the pumping speed will be intuitive. Just pump fast enough to match the flow, and you will get the right brew time and a great shot.Seattle coffee gear has a YouTube review if you want to see it in action before using it. All in all, this is easily my new favorite travel coffee maker, and I will no longer be carrying a grinder, beans, and an Aeropress machine when I travel. Hooray!I am attaching a photo just after making a shot, including a kitchen knife for scale.

I make frothed milk, which is hot, so I don’t bother running hot water through it first. Perfect temp, perfect crema, tastes delicious. It’s heavier then I expected but I think that’s what makes it not feel cheap. I bought this for work because company policy will not allow us to have coffee machines and I don’t like the plasticy cheap taste of the free Maxwell House. I can now have a latte in the afternoon!update: I lowered my rating from a 5 to 4 star. Ultimately, I would buy this again if I could do it over. Here are a few pro’s and con’s:Pro’s:- makes great cooffee- easy to use anywhere (I make “desk lattes” at work)- works great with nespresso brand podsCon’s:- if your water isn’t at the max heat, your shot will be too cold. this is not a problem for me because I have a frothing pitcher and the milk is hot enough that you’ll have to wait for them to cool- tried the off-brand pods and they are TERRIBLE. the pod top needs to be taught and these were loose and thick, don’t try to use gourmesso pods with this- I’ve had my minipresso for 9 months and now when I try to screw the water part it won’t screw in all the way, then pops and makes me rescrew it, something needs to be replaced

I confess to being somewhat of an espresso snob with a fully automatic machine that grinds the beans and makes an wonderful cup of espresso. I didn’t expect much from a hand press espresso machine but I’m impressed. It’s passable when you’re on your camping trip and far from a barista with an expensive machine. I boil a kettle of water and pre-heat the demitasse cup and the machine before pressing an espresso through the cartridge. It’s not made in Milan but it keeps me from being grumpy without my espresso.

Okay, so, I have been using the Minipresso for about a week. Overall, I love how compact the product is and, when it functions correctly, it makes beautiful espresso from Nespresso pods…seriously, the crema is amazing. However, I just can’t give this 5 stars as it has already crapped out on me. The compartment that holds water won’t seal correctly and every time I tighten it, it pops open and leaks hot water everywhere. Also, the compartment for the pod leaks after the pod has been removed. I think water stays trapped in the device in some sort of an airlock and then leaks out over time, but when I move around with the Minipresso, after having used it, emptied the pod and remaining water from the device…as I walk around, it leaks espresso all over my hands. I really, REALLY want to like this simply because it is such an easy to use espresso maker and it has that “cool” factor when I show my coworkers, but I just can’t.

My wife and I used to carry a full-size Nespresso machine with us when we traveled by car or by airplane. If she doesn’t have an espresso first thing in the morning she’s going to be uncomfortable all day. I hated having to carry a full sized machine on board the plane as part of our carry-on luggage, but I didn’t want to check it in. The Minipresso NS is worth many times it’s light weight in gold. It’s tiny and easy to carry with you. My wife finds it hard to pump so I do that for her. She just loves the taste of the coffee it makes. She thinks the taste and crema are even superior to the full-size machines. I rate this as a buy it, you won’t regret it. Great value for an affordable price

In short: you wont be disappointed! As soon as I got this I had to try it out and compare it side by side with the nespresso machine. I did a quick wash of the minipresso and poured some hot water fromThe nespresso mashine as it’s quicker then boiling water. It took 20 seconds to fill the water, screw it on and add the Nespresso Capsule. The race starts. Pressed the button on the nespresso and at the same time started pumping the Minipresso. It took about 10-11 pumps to fill a shot of espresso and finished a few seconds before the Nespresso machine. Results: the Mjnimpresso held up to its name. It didn’t make as much crèmà as I was hoping it would with useing two hands to pump, however I am still satisified.Pros:-Extremely small (size of a 12 oz water bottle-easy to use, set up.-Cleaning was not bad.inwouod dona nice deep cleaning after 10 uses and clean out some left over coffee stuck in the nook and crannies.Cons:-When taking the pods out donit over a sink or trash as it will leak some coffee and wil get over you.-AIRPORT: I have pre check, and out of the 15 times I flew, they pulled me to the side 9 times to check it out and to open it all up. Not a big deal.I just take it out now and put it separately and I do mention it to the TSA so they are aware of it, now I never get stoped. But when I do mention it they do think it’s a pretty cool device. So if you get stopped. Don’t give them a hard time! You can eaither ruien your day and get upset or walk away laughing and the next time you see them, they will Most likely remember you and ask how your coffee is.I have used this:On road tripsOut CampingOn AirplanesOn vacationsSitting at the beach early morning/ late eveningsAt work

Got this as a father’s day gift, big coffee guy so was very excited to get this even went out and bought a ton of capsules for it after using it for a couple of weeks I’m noticing that it’s leaking a lot and the cup is no longer staying attached to, and I’ve almost misplaced cup a few times. Overall the product is sound it does leave a little bit more water in reservoir then I would hope but I do enjoy the cup of coffee it makes. I will reach out to customer support maybe my unit may be having an issue I’m unaware of.Update: After reaching out to customer service got an immediate response and getting replacement this week 5 Star customer support.

Great for traveling, especially if you want to bring your Nespresso with you. I actually like the espresso quality better than my Nespresso machine at home. Per other reviews, I ran one round of hot water through it first to heat it up first and my espresso comes out nice and hot. Giving it 4 stars because it can be a bit messy. Its a little hard to keep a good grip on it for pumping when the machine or my hands are even a tiny bit wet wet (which happens whenever I remove a pod or add more water). Also, some liquid unexpectedly gushes out when I set the pump down on its side after pressing my espresso. I’ve tried shaking the machine after done pumping, and it still does it. However, for the quality of espresso, I’ll absolutely put up with it…especially if I’m mainly using it in the great outdoors!

The minipresso NS makes a very good espresso from a Nespresso capsule, however in actual use I find it to be very impractical for travel as it makes a mess. After making the espresso, there is a considerable amount of water left in the machine and this drips out of the nozzle. This is acceptable as I expect some cleanup however even after removing the Nespresso capsule, draining the water remaining, and then reassembling the machine to be stored in my bag, there is still water trapped in the machine which then leaks all over the bag. This makes the intended use completely impractical – I fly for an airline and would like to use this on board between flights to make myself an espresso. Too many times I have put the machine away only to find the bottom of my flight bag with a thin layer of coffee and water, even after completely drying and emptying the machine beforehand. I am also having a problem with coffee grinds in the espresso. Overall I think this product has potential, and perhaps their new model addresses these issues, but I do not think this product is ready for prime time. If you have a location to rinse and fully drain and dry the machine after use then it is a good product, but that greatly takes away from the advertised portable aspect of this product.

I wish it was a 5 star product… but sadly it is not.I am a big fan and long time user of NespressoFor many years, and Ive always waited for a portable nespresso maker. I was very excited for this one. I ordered it and received a good quality product, but not great.1st, it was kind of disappointing to get a 100% manual device in 2017, and especially because it uses Nespresso, which is a very luxurious and technological company. I would expect some kind of electric help, instead of PUMPING!The fact that you require hot water is kind of annoying, but it’s okay.On the picture they show the knob pressing with 2 fingers. Probably Chuck Norris fingers. I needed my whole hand for the first few pumps and then I needed both hands!!! My wife barely succeeded to make it at all.The first coffee we made wasn’t a coffee. It was brown water, ans only after a lot of work. Then the second coffee we made ( the same way as the first time by the way) did come out good. The reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the coffee came out fine and it basically does give you more options of where to make your Nesspresso. But it nots fun and not convenient to use. So I probably will still go to buy coffee at the drive thru. Can’t wait for something better with a car plug or usb that gives you the option to choose manual use or electric.

So I am very pleasantly surprised by this machine, as I had read about the difficulties people were having pumping and the slightly awkward way of holding and pumping it simultaneously. I also wanted a machine that takes pods, so I don’t have to worry about grounds, cleaning them etc… Hence this device won out over the Staresso and other ground-only similar devices. I received my minipresso today, so I could try it out myself, and found it is easier to use than expected! The trick is to prime the pump and then pump slowly/evenly. I also pre-pumped with hot water, so the machine itself was warm, and the result was a great espresso, hot and with a nice crema. It is almost as good as from my fully powered Delhonghi Nespresso cube, so I am very pleased. It’s a bit fiddly, tightening and unscrewing the various compartments, but I expect I will have the motions down in a few more tries. It’s also oddly satisfying since I put in the extra bit of elbow grease. Heh. I have used it 3x already at the office today, and even my co-workers were surprised at how good it tasted. So overall, very happy with the purchase, and plan on using it at the office for my daily espresso ritual.

I have one in my office. The espresso shot that it makes is unbelievable!!!! however, the capsules that it uses are not something you will go pick up from Walmart or bedbathandbeyond. The capsules are more of a special order. You can get them through amazon or other online outlets. Not expensive at all. I love it. I can get my caffeine kick anytime and anywhere now. I am not paid for this review or any other. I paid for mine. But yes go ahead and get yourself one.

The main reason I bought this was for the product’s intention: portable coffee at a reasonable price. This fits the bill. I hadn’t tried Nespresso capsules before and heard good things, so I chose the NS model. It makes more sense to me to travel with a few Nespresso capsules than ground coffee. This little gadget produces a nice crema even though it relies on hand pump pressure to dispense the espresso. The reason I chose 4 stars over 5: there always seems to be a little leftover water in the water reservoir when finished (not a big deal as I just pour it into my cup) but I’d prefer all of the water to push through the grounds. Also, sometimes it requires a good deal of hand pressure to squeeze out the espresso. It’s not consistently difficult to do but sometimes I notice it stiffer than other times. Overall a good product!

This mini pump is easy to carry around and easy to use. I could keep two Nespresso capsules in the empty water compartment so that they will not be squeeze out of shape in my bag and use them when I need to make my espresso. The only draw back is the espresso is not as hot as been brewed from the machine but it could be drank immediately after been dispensed from the minipresso. I like the compatibility of this device.

The nice portion is that you are able to make a good Nespresso coffee anywhere. All you will need is hot water and of course some Nespresso capsules. The not so nice portion is that it is not so easy to clean (compared to how easy is a Nespresso machine). You will also need to be prepared to pump many times until you got your coffee… and don’t take too long otherwise your coffee will get cold. For sure it is a good solution if you are camping or traveling and still want to have an expresso (that for sure is better than any other coffee in a hotel breakfast).

I love this so much! I had purchased a different manual one and returned it the first time I used it, it was a nightmare. This is so easy to use and my first cup was perfection! I’m so happy I found this because I had ordered about 100 Nespresso cups for the other one and was almost crying when I was trying to use it, then I couldn’t get it apart. This is top quality, so easy to use and take apart and clean. I plan on buying one for a girlfriend who loves espresso for her birthday.

Decent for what it is. Two cons, not quite hot enough, but that’s hardly a problem with the unit. You can only boil water so hot where as an espresso machine can boil it under pressure and get it hotter. The second issue is the amount of water in the reservoir. It is the perfect size for a shot of espresso, but if like me you use the lungo setting for a fuller cup, then there is no way that handle that short of just adding some hot water to the cup. But that is different and more americano style. I’m happy with it for what I got it for though. Maybe 4 stars. Can’t decide.

It does what it is supposed to. For best results run hot water through first (preheat). Use over a sink (or outdoors) as you tend to get drips here and there from various ends. Not leaks, just as you turn it over. Found that design flaw is that it is not easy to pull out the bit that punctures the large end of the capsule, for cleaning. The piece with the small squares on it. it is held into the end with an “O” ring and there is no easy way to grip it and pull the two apart. Needs some ribs moulded in to get a grip on. I drilled a couple of very small holes so a paper clip can be inserted and the parts separated.

Been using this off and on at home for last 6 months. Finally took it camping a couple of weekends ago. Sad to say, it’s not as great as it could be.Main issue is the leakiness when changing out the nespresso pods. If you’re like me and like a double shot (or more) when drinking your coffee/espresso, it’s not fun to have to deal with hot liquid pouring over your hands as you change the pods.I’ve cleaned it multiple times, but doesn’t seem to make a difference. Still seems to hold about 1/4 – 1/3 of the liquid inside the pod chamber to be released all over your hands when you change the pod. Or you can be careful and slowly open and pour the weak coffee water into your cup as you open the chamber.

When travelling I always want to pack my espresso maker but can’t. Now, I have a cute little minipressor that can travel! Yay! (I had to watch YouTube as trying to use it the first time without caffeine was no bueno.) I gave it 4 stars for ease of use because it’s a little hard for me to pump. Understandable. But worth every pump. 💜Update: I’ve had this handy little gadget for a year and half and it’s still making great espresso on the road!

I wanted to love this little coffee press. In fact, I do love this little coffee press. But, it leaks and you might get burned. The product has a 1 year warranty. I made a total of 30 Nespresso shots on three different out-of-town trips, and on the last trip I scalded two fingers on my left hand. I have had this unit about 5 1/2 months. I reached out to the manufacturer asking to replace the unit and that’s when the back-and-forth began. Send the serial # and manufacturing date stamp and purchase receipt. I did. Are the threads in the water tank worn out? Send us a picture. They weren’t. Is it the orange seal/gasket? It looked fine to me.After more trouble-shooting, I believe what causes this unit to leak is the heat of the water itself. Per the instructions: “6. Add boiling water into the water tank.” This is what will yield a decently hot shot of Nespresso, but sadly I believe boiling/near-boiling water is also what makes this little baby leak. The water tank is a hard plastic. So just guessing here (I’m no engineer) but boiling hot, or just post-boiling hot, water makes the tank expand just enough that it compromises the integrity of the seal with the main body. You then flip it upside down to start pumping out your shot of Nespresso and near-boiling hot water seeps out onto your hands. The last round of Nespresso shots I made the water wasn’t as hot and the unit didn’t leak onto my hands. All other variables were the same (same Nespresso pods, same altitude, using filtered water).I was going to rate this at least a 2, but with the risk of having your hands burned I had to go with a 1 because this just isn’t safe. And let’s not even talk about the run-around with the manufacturer when you’re asking them to honor the warranty. Frankly, I just gave up. I will at least be able to get tepid shots of Nespresso out of this unit without getting burned. And, I’m looking into buying a pair of heat resistant silicone cooking gloves to see if that might be doable to make getting a hot shot out of this unit feasible (whoever thought I’d pack a silicone baking glove on a trip? LOL)If you are going to buy the Minipresso, these are my suggestions / best guesses to keep from getting scalded:- Do not use boiling or near boiling hot water. If you are going to use water that is hot enough to burn you, protect your hands with something.- Do not fill the water tank above the fill line. This will cause water to immediately seep out when you attempt to screw the tank onto the main body. (I got some more minor scalds this way prior to the near-boiling water experience).- Make sure both the water tank and the part that holds the Nespresso pod are secured very tightly to the main unit before you begin pressing your Nespresso. (Also a lesson learned).Pros:- It’s compact.- It doesn’t require batteries.- Although your shot of Nespresso may be tepid, it tastes just as you’d expect. Aside from the leaking, the Minipresso does a good job.Cons:- It leaks. I’m just guessing the temperature of the water is the main factor that can’t be fixed without fixing the design. Perhaps the seal and water tank threads are also an issue in the design.- You may have to press very hard and communicate a long while with many questions and pictures before the manufacturer will honor the 1 year warranty. Unknown. I gave up.Good luck!

It does everything it says it will do although it takes a lot more than 8 pumps to prime the water pressure…. More like 24! BUT… it brews a perfect shot of Nespresso once it does get going – with a frothy head and everything! I’m on the road a lot and stay in a lot of average hotel rooms with crappy instant coffee. Having my portable Nespresso maker on the road with me is a God send!

I take long trips on my motorcycle, most often staying in roadside motels along the way. The Wacaco Minipresso is ideal for making a delicious early morning latte. After heating boiling water and warming milk in the in-room microwave, I insert a Nespresso pod (Peet’s pods are excellent) and pump. The pods are clean and easier to use than ground coffee. Pumping requires a little effort but I rationalize it as good exercise. Packing is premium on a motorcycle and the Minipresso takes up very little room.

Overall its great and I use it more than just for travel. But, if you set it down on its side after using it a small amount of coffee / water leaks out and there is no way to get around it. On another note it is poss to turn it over and stand it up so this does not happen. I have used it when out and about in my car (take a thermos of water) and make a little espresso shot on the road. It can get you through a long day when you are a bit remote.

I wanted a portable espresso solution for travelling, most business travel hotels offer so-so coffee and beggers can’t be choosers in the mornings. I don’t really use Nespresso at home, but I cant take my espresso maker with me… or can I. I found this handy little unit after a it of searching. I just got and did a test run with some Pete’s nesspresso pods I had for my summer cabin Nespresso machine. Was easy to disassemble and put the pod in and water, pump and pump. Presto. Decent cup of espresso. Can’t wait to try it out while traveling next week.

Bought this about a month ago and really love it. It smaller than I expected in person, but that just makes it easy to store. It’s not too hard to use once you get the knack-great mini workout for the arms. One flaw I noticed is it needs at least two refills of water into the hot water cup to make a cuppa. The pod naturally gets filled with water as you push through, which doesn’t get pushed out completely. I would love if they had made the water section a bit bigger to allow for this. Looking forward to trying this when travelling, as its very easy to use, and makes a great cup of coffee.

This was a recommendation from a friend. The second I ordered it she told me “also you have to boil your own water” and “be careful not to burn yourself because the water spills sometimes”. But I thought whatever, I just moved to a new place and needed something until my stuff arrived. It’s a really great concept but a pain in the butt for a cup of coffee

A good friend of mine has the regular version of this Mini-Expresso portable coffee machine where you just use the regular fine ground coffee type(not easy to carry around) so I decided to buy the Nespresso Capsule type….it’s just easier to carry when you travel…. it is the perfect machine for the go, all you need is hot water and presto instant good coffee in less than 45 seconds you get perfect espresso with all its natural foam… wow! I’m in love again👌🏼

Love the ease of prep and cleanup. The hardest part was waiting for the water to boil! 🙂 Great machine, easy to pump with 1hand for me, my wife used 2 hands. The shot of espresso was exactly what we needed before hitting the trails for the day and exploring. Light, compact, user friendly! Keep up the good work Wacaco.

I love this thing! My husband and I are total coffee snobs and prefer our own selection when we travel. Since we’re frequent AirBnB users, it’s always a gamble whether our lodgings will have coffee or even coffee makers. This minipresso was a total impulse buy because I didn’t want to get stuck having to order another Starbucks on the go.Obviously you need boiling water to make this work but we were really pleased. It IS hard to pump. I don’t have an accessibility issues but if you have arthritis or problems in the hands, this device could be tricky to get every last drop of coffee out. I personally just drink the espresso but my husband likes a latte so I’ll do a double shot for him plus milk or equal parts milk and espresso. It’s a great gadget that works for travelers and I’m pleased with it! Only time will tell if it will last!

This was a gift for my son to take hunting/camping,fishing as he loves having his morning coffee. He found it extremely easy to use, easy to clean and the results was a perfect expresso shot. It was such a big hit that the fella he went hunting with came home and ordered one himself. Thanks to all the reviews I read about this particular brand as their honest statements caused me to purchase this. The quality of the unit is exceptional and I would recommend it to anyone inquiring.

This little manual espresso maker is very portable but only produces about 1.5 oz of bean juice per use. Overall, the system works but is labor intensive, noisy, and somewhat risky. After adding boiling water to the 2 oz cup, you are supposed to invert the devise and pump about 30 times under a few pounds of pressure. You will be surprised how much effort it takes, especially if you’re making a few shots. If the water is even slightly overfilled, scalding water leaks on to your hands while pumping. It is difficult to clean as water and espresso get caught inside and do not fully flush out. I believe there are better options out there.

While not the same quality as you would get from a Nespresso machine, the quality of coffee this produces is definitely much better than your typical Keurig or hotel room machine. Unfortunately, the concept is good, but the execution, is not. The gaskets keep popping out, and A LOT of coffee pools in the capsule chamber, which means less in the cup. And when you open the top, coffee leaks out all over. Maybe I just got a bad machine?

I ordered this at the end of December and it already stopped working!!The reviews seemed great and was excited to try. Initially I loved this machine and found it a great size for my kitchen. Now the machine has stopped adding pressure when I pump the side handle. So disappointed. The return window was only a month so now I’m stuck with $50 worth of JUNK!

i used this contraption this morning to avoid bad coffee in a hotel room. it’s a bit of a work-out to build-up the air pressure, but i worked out a system…. pumping with the heals of my hands until the capsule is saturated then waiting a few seconds before pumping to flush the rest of the water through. then i refill with hot water and repeat to get more out of the already saturated capsule. It’s easy to pop open, rinse and store in the included travel bag… though the pump button doesn’t always lock into place.if you have arthritis… this is not the device for you.

I like that there are no batteries or need for electricity. It’s a perfect companion for dry camping which we do often. I also like that I just use my original capsules which I already have. No special coffee prep. What I don’t like is that it makes a great cup of espresso that I drink too quickly……but that’s my problem not the portable espresso machine.

I have been drinking espresso regularly for over 40 years, and I’ve aways missed it when traveling. This gadget is the real thing. Ignore the complaints from buyers expecting something else. It makes a perfect espresso. The amount is right (about 40-45 ml), and it worked well with the two Nespresso-compatible capsules that I’ve tried (Solimo and Garibaldi). The only suggestion is that you first make a “fake” cup without a capsule to heat the components, so your “real” cup will be hot. Not cheap, but appears to be built for durability.

Makes great espresso (mines the nespresso version). Three tips – run it on hot water before use, run some tap water after use (to clean the insides), and learn how to hold an espresso cup in contact with it while pumping. Again – makes great espresso, a fine product. As to the volume – I don’t know how to put it, it’s fine and you shouldn’t make more, in any machine.

I don’t write many reviews but……I’m the only coffee drinker in our family and I have a Nespresso machine at home. I love good coffee and the Nespresso is the perfect choice for me. The problem is when we travel. If I could take my Nespresso machine with me I would but that is not practical especially if you are flying. So I’ve been looking for a solution for quite a while. Pour over single serving coffee, instant, other light weight machines but after much research I decided to give this Wacaco minipresso a try. I love it! It’s light weight, easy to use and I still get my great tasting Nespresso coffee. Perfect! Yes, you need access to boiling water and if you want to add milk then a microwave is also needed but what a great solution!

This worked our perfectly for a camping trip. I haaaate most instant coffees and it was nice to be spoiled with good espresso in the morning before taking on some big hikes. Very easy to useful, gives your hand a bit of a workout if you need to do it more than twice. For cold mornings, I definitely recommend running some hot water through it first before making the espresso. Overall, I’m very happy with it and I know this will be an essential part of my camping kit.

The Minipresso NS is well designed. It is not made for people with hand arthritis. It was painful to unscrew, tighten, and pump this little machine (everything has to be really tight to work). I am going to keep this little contraption though because I did get a lovely cup of expresso in the end using my Nespresso pods. It will be great for travel- and it doesn’t make any noise! I will just pack an anti-slip jar gripper to make it easier on my hands.

My real Nespresso died, so we got a DeLongi clone, that died too. So I got this after my wife came home with a drop coffee maker and started serving Folgers. Sad to say, it didn’t really replicate the Nespresso experience. For one thing, the hot water repo is pretty small so there’s a limit how much water you can pump through it before you’re out. It’s tricky to use without scalding yourself, etc.

I wanted a way to make espresso on my boat that was small, lower power use and easy to use. I chose the NS model to cut down on mess. It took a little getting used to but now that I’ve had a little practice I can make very good espresso almost anywhere.I did discover that off branded (non Nespresso) capsules need a little tweaking to work well. I have found that the bottom blades do cut through plastic capsules but I prefer to use an exacto blade to pierce the plastic as, sometimes, the bottom is a little short to puncture by the Minipresso. My unit also seems to have a little trouble piercing the top foil as well. I use a strait pin to poke a few holes in the foil and seems to help the machine do the rest of the work. It is not too fiddly!Preheating the unit is a must. Add boiling water to the water chamber and pump it through without a pod. Pump the water into your drinking cup so you preheat that too. It is just a short step that makes a big difference.I hope to get the lungo tank soon. I would also like to try refillable pods too. Then I would have a very versitile little espresso maker indeed!

This has been working out great! I recently took it with me on a cruise and was able to make an iced latte every day. I used hot water from a dispenser normally meant to make hot tea and cocoa. I then grabbed a cup and filled halfway with ice and 2/3 of the way with milk and brewed two pods over it. Definitely a cruise hack (aboard Royal Caribbean, anyway). The only thing I don’t like is that it takes time to dry in between and cannot quickly be put back together without concern for mold growing.

Got this for my boyfriend because he commutes and loves a good cup of Joe and loves nespresso so this was perfect. I got him a electric water heater to take with him and I’ve tried it myself so delicious and you can’t beat a nespresso shot of coffee excited to buy another variety pack for us to try. Stop thinking about it and buy it. We can’t wait to use it on a hike 🙌🏾🙌🏾

I need this on the go energy boost for my job as a flight attendant. I will say it needs piping hot water to stay hot so it’s easier to maintain that temperature at home. Even though I have to settle with the hot water from the plane I can still get my coffee fix in the air. Clean up is a little tedious, more so the drying process of water staying in the nooks and crannies. Other than that a good product. Easy to bring around. Definitely get a case!

I’d been vacillating on models/makers for several months. I had a long road trip coming up, knew I’d be off-grid for a while, and had a ton of Nespresso pods I hadn’t used. This ticked all the boxes.I pop in a pod, boil some water in my JetBoil, put it all together, pump a few times, and I’ve got tasty espresso (my choice of flavors!!) in a few moments. Clean up is easy and this thing could fit in your pocket!! It’s been a wonderful thing to have on the road and in the back country! You won’t be sorry!

Is it hard to pump with one hand? Yes. Yes, it is. (For me, anyway.) I have moderate arthritis, so I need to use both hands. The good news is I don’t need to pump super fast to get a good extraction. I’ve used this about a dozen times so far since acquiring last month and I get a consistent shot of espresso every time that comes out just as good as if I had used my Nespresso mini essenza machine. I appreciate not having to worry about charging a battery. Granted, I need to have access to a hot water supply, but I’ve also successfully made cold brew espresso shots without any issue. Clean-up is super easy – just pump plain water through once or twice and disassemble to allow pieces to air dry. This model (NS) comes with a soft travel sleeve. The hard travel case for this model is sold separately. Since I was so pleased with the device, I decided to purchase the hard case and I use the soft travel sleeve to hold loose Nespresso pods. Nice and compact for easy transport.

Item functions, essentially, as advertised. I found mine to leak after the first couple of uses. Had trouble getting all of the water to make it through the brewing system, leaving a mess when you went to break it down and clean. Every fourth or fifth pod failed to puncture fully and just spit out brown water. when it was good, it was great, but not worth the hassle. Returned.

Espresso snobs will say it’s not proper, but it’s very good for how small, quick, and easy it is. Backpack portable and easy to bring on your commute. All you need is your pod and some hot water and you’ll have a good enough espresso on the go. Even has a good crema!

The product does do what it says it will do, but I bought this product to make espresso in my small apartment. I thought it would be nice to not have to use anymore limited counter space and also have something that is portable. Little did I know how it actually is very inconvenient to try to use at home every morning. You do what the instructions tell you but I like to drink a few espressos so you’ll have to repeat the process over and over and pumping the device takes some muscle. I dread on making myself some espresso every morning because of this. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve burned myself using this device. If you don’t close the hit water holder extremely tight and correctly when you flip it over the water can seep through and burn your hand, but sometimes it’s not even my fault. I believe the pressure also is a factor of how tight you can insert the water holder cup, because even though I put all my strength to insert it, it will still undo slightly from one side when I turn it around. This device is very messy because every time I take out either cups from either side there is always some water that there is no way to get out unless you open it, and yes, it’s hot so you need to be careful on how you dispose of that water. I have to use this device on top of my sink for that reason. Finally, after about 4 espressos the device itself in its entirety starts to get hot to the touch. I do not recommend this device for anyone that wants a quick espresso because you need to be very careful in the entire process for just one espresso and I don’t recommend this for home use as well, only for camping and for someone who is willing to go through all of that.

I read a lot of review before buying and most of them are spot on. For the cost, I say this is a great answer to having Nespresso while travelling. The only 2 issues I see with the product are, you need boiling water so that has to be available and its a bit time consuming to make several cups. That being said, I do think this is the best way to have Nespresso and feel it’s a great deal. I took skiing and was able to heat water in my hotel room.

I rarely write reviews, but after two years of using this when traveling to all kinds of far flung locations, I feel compelled. It’s utterly, utterly brilliant. With a folding kettle and espresso cups you have a kit that, although it does take up a bit of space, lets you wake up in some remote hotel with a crappy coffee maker and have a PROPER shot of espresso. I just can’t describe how good it is to give yourself a little treat in the morning – sounds silly but it’s amazing. The facts. It’s easy to use when you have had a little practice and got a feel for it. it CAN be a little messy since you’re manually pumping and it takes a little practice to hold it still so coffee doesn’t miss the cup but you get used to that. Also, when taking out the pod, you really need to do it over the sink, but again as long as you know you’re good. Lastly the advice in other reviews about warming it first is good unless you’re going to shoot your coffee immediately! If you’re traveling a lot and like coffee (or, like Nespresso) then get this IMMEDIATELY.Here are the other parts in my “coffee kit” that have served me well:Espresso cups: https://www.amazon.com/80ml-Stainless-Steel-Espresso-Cups/dp/B01MR65UYQ/Folding kettle: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XFHW99P/

I love the idea, needed my espresso while road-tripping across the country. This thing got the job done for a while- though not without making a huge mess every time. Espresso tasted great but those pods are expensive and every time you went to make a shot, it was a toss-up as to whether or not it would work on the first try or waste your pod. Now- a couple months after purchase- it doesn’t seem to be working at all…Would love to see some improvements made to this design. As it is now- not sure it is worth the money.

I rarely write review but this product is so good I had to. I admit it … I’m addicted to espresso and have to have my 4 shots every morning just to get moving. I travel on business globally 200+ days of the year and hotels in some parts of the world don’t always have Nespresso machines. I hate to have to go down to a coffee shop to get my morning shots in the morning. I bought this recently for a 3 week trip to Korea. The unit worked like a charm and the espresso is excellent with a nice froth. It’s easy to use and to clean. You do have to work a bit with the hand pump, but I figure that’s good exercise … an added benefit. I just ordered a second unit as a back-up.

For me, all I wanted to know is if this would replace my daily Starbucks’ drink, i.e., an iced flat white, and I’m thrilled to say it has, does, and will continue to do so. Get this with the Starbucks espresso pods (and whole milk and some good ice) and you’re set. This espresso maker is quick, super easy, and consistent. I use it at least daily.

High quality machines using the original-line pods are pricey. I used this to determine whether we would use that pod style of coffee as it was a third of the price. This piece of equipment is very sturdy and well made, so much so that I spent the extra money to purchase the extended water tank. The quality of coffee was always very consistent. Once I was able to establish a routine, it was very easy and quick to make two quality coffees. I can see where this would be an excellent addition to any travel bag as it has a very small footprint and light. After 1 month of daily use, the decision was made to purchase a high quality pod machine and we haven’t looked back.

Purchased this for my son who spends a lot of time in hotel rooms drinking “in room” coffee. He was very happy to have a compact, easy to use source of “good coffee” to take with him on his trips. It comes in a nice drawstring bag and takes up very little room in his carry on. All he has to remember is to pack the pods and he is set to enjoy a good cup of expresso. Highly recommended by my son!

I bought this so I could use my original Nespresso capsules on vacation. It takes up less space than my hairdryer or a beach towel in my luggage, and with the expansion reservoir, I can make a delicious cup of coffee. It does give your fingers/hand a workout when you squeeze the plunger to brew, but it isn’t that difficult to manage. I really love this little device and the great coffee I can get from it. The expansion kit doubles the size of the coffee/espresso you can make, and one capsule makes a perfect cup.

I’m giving this portable espresso maker 4 stars because it does brew a delicious cup of coffee and it’s very portable. However, the instructions could be clearer. Nowhere in the product description does it mention that you need to use hot water to brew espresso. For me, this was a bit of a surprise – I was expecting to be able to use cold or room temperature water. In addition, the Minipresso NS can be a bit messy to use, and it requires some practice to get the perfect cup. If you’re looking for a no-fuss way to make espresso at home, this probably isn’t the best option. However, if you’re a coffee lover who travels frequently, the Minipresso NS is a great way to enjoy a good cup of coffee on the go.Here are some additional things to keep in mind: * The water can get very hot, so you need to be careful when handling it. * It can be difficult to clean and is not dishwasher safe.Overall, I would recommend the WACACO Minipresso NS to coffee lovers who are looking for a portable espresso maker. Just be aware of the shortcomings I mentioned before you buy.

….. if I were a MIT engineering professor and had access to a precision microscope to line up the grooves in the boiling water reservoir. But sadly, I chose the wrong major and my lot in life is now to bear the scarlet letter of 2nd degree burns upon my hands. In all seriousness, this is a fickle little b#^!* that may or may not burp boiling hot water all over you. The reservoir is a serious design flaw and needs to be remade as either a full screw-on or some type of clamp. The amount of trial & error that goes in to extracting just one shot makes this a poor value for time and money. Perhaps useful as a gadget to break out on your biannual camping trip, but not something you want to fight with every day.

This does work well, if you don’t mind giving yourself a workout before you’re really awake. I’m not that strong and it takes some effort to get each shot (and I drink four in each drink, so it’s also a bit time consuming). That said, it still saved me money on a 3 week trip by bringing my pods from home and not buying coffee most days. I would highly suggest getting the larger water tank for the unit.
