I literally unboxed it, pushed the button to deploy the legs, and the entire base of the unit snapped off. Plastic parts for the whole thing. I owned it for about 30 seconds. What a waste of money.

I originally backed this on Kickstarter to use for field dressing elk after dark and while it works well for that, I found my self using it even more around the house so I bought a second one. I've used it for grilling in the dark, outdoor projects that went beyond sunset, camping and even as a makeshift ring light for video meetings because the lighting in my office is so bad. These are sturdy, well constructed, and just an all around handy piece of equipment.

This extendable lamp is a perfect accessory for camping or hiking trips. Yes, it's not light, so it will add a couple of pounds to your gear, but it also does a lot in terms of illumination. The spring loaded legs and extendable pole make this great for a base camp setup. The agents on each leg are powerful. My third posture shows it fully extended attached perpendicular to the ground on my dishwasher. It held easily, and needed a bit of effort to remove. This would be great to put atop a car for even more area lighting of a camp site. The adjustable brightness and color temperature are nice features, as well as the ability to charge a USB device from it, using it as a power bank. The SOS is an actual SOS signal, not just a blinking light. I do have a couple of criticisms however, wish this had come with a carry case or bag to stop scuff marks and to hold the included metal stakes and extra reflective hexagons. I also would have loved for this to have a red light mode to provide illumination while also protecting night vision. To me, especially at this price point, these are two things this should absolutely include, as they would make this the ultimate outdoor area lamp. Nonetheless, I would absolutely recommend it!

I picked up this camping lantern, and it's turned out to be a solid choice. As a tabletop unit, it works great – sturdy, durable, and feels really well-built. I can tell it's going to last a long time.The light it gives off is good, but I was hoping for a bit more brightness. Also, it would be awesome if it could telescope a bit further, so it could stand on its own rather than needing a table or something for height.Despite those minor wishes, it's a great outdoor light overall.
