I bought this when it was a kickstarter campaign. Since then a lot of knockoffs have popped up on Amazon, but this is the original and built to the highest quality. I have been using it for about 6 months and the performance is excellent. The battery lasts for ages, it is stable and very robust. I is a great work light and camp/table light. It also works as a hand torch, but is fairly bulky so not something I use for long trips. It is very versatile and well made and extremely reliable.

I liked their idea on Indiegogo in Aug 2022 and decided to contribute a couple hundred dollars and get two units. I followed along with their updates, delays, and ultimately saw a bunch of copycat products since their conception. As of 12/2023 I received my two units and they work as intended. The battery is huge and two of them make for a great camping setup. The white and soft light settings are awesome as well.Definitely worth the wait and they delivered a product they promised two years ago.

Did not purchase from Amazon, but through KickStarter. I have three of the units and am impressed with their build quality. I use one in the shop, and one in the house as a reading lamp, and bedtime light on its dimmest setting in the “yellow light” mode. I also carry one in the car for emergencies. It also can be used in a battery backup for cell phone, tablet, etc. I have been pleasantly impressed.

Flashlights are my little guilty pleasure. I have way too many of them than is practical. This one just looks and feels *new* in the sea of flashlights. The build quality on this is very solid. You can tell they put a lot of thought and detail into its construction and it should last, especially if their claims of durability and water ingress rating (IPX7) are to be believed. Either way, you can *feel* the heft. While this is not the brightest flashlight I own, it’s plenty bright, and you can put the light essentially ANYWHERE you need it given how flexible it is with its telescoping capabilities and rotation ability. It’s utility is definitely its strongest suit. The magnetic base works great. One of the images are of the unit attached to the side of a safe. It’s worth noting that if you don’t have a strong magnetic connection and have the telescoping unit extended pretty far, the unbalance can cause (it did in my case) the unit to slide down the surface it’s attached to.I plugged in my Samsung S23 Ultra to the lantern and was able to get it to ‘Fast Charge’ immediately. Gained 2% charge in the few minutes I had it plugged in.Comes with:* Extra reflective stickers to place on existing gear (or to add to this unit* Ground stakes to keep the unit from moving if tripoding it on permeable surfaces* Wrist lanyard to attach to the base of the unit for carry

This is a well-built and thought-out light. It serves the purpose of a lantern and a flashlight. Due to its build quality and subsequent weight, it is not a flashlight that you would want to manually hold for a long period of time, but it can serve the purpose. The telescoping option is cool, and allows the light to be positioned in a variety of ways. Also, the light source can be rotated a variety of ways which provides an opportunity to direct the light where I want it to shine. The magnetic tripod feet enable me to “stick” the light wherever I have suitable steel surfaces. This does not include my car which is fabricated with aluminum and fiberglass. But it does include my lawn mower, where I can attach the light and mow at night.Overall, this is a cool invention and it is well made.

I’m always interested in a decent camping lamp, one that I can also use in my home when the power goes out. This particular lamp is some solid, unlike a lot of the inexpensive solar style lamps on the market. Yes, I do have some of those, but much prefer this style. This is a super compact model with some very interesting features. It’s easy to see how it can fold up into a tube-like structure, if that’s what you call it. Rather like some of the Bluetooth speakers I have, but I digress. With the press of a button, the legs came out. The lamp telescopes upward by pulling on the head of the lamp itself. The head of this lamp is flexible and I can direct the beam of my light.Mind you, with the lumens this puts out, we’re not talking a flood of light. It’s a directed style of light that will illuminate an area such as the inside of a tent or where one’s group is sitting. If you want heavy-duty illumination of an entire area, simply take a pass. This lamp does come with a few tent stakes, a lanyard, a Type-C USB cord (not proprietary), and some reflective stickers. The battery capacity is excellent at 12000mAh. I’m putting the specs below for your convenience. Now, this takes a full five hours to charge, but should be a long-lasting one. I do like the fact that the legs are magnetized. I can put this one on my vehicle or on a table. One thing I discovered is that this one does have the SOS strobe feature, a real plus for that unexpected emergency. Expensive? Yes, but you get what you pay for in this case.SPECS:• Input: 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A• Output: 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A• Battery Capacity: 12000mAh• Time to Fully Charge: 5 Hours

I was honestly very surprised at the build quality of this light. As soon as I got the box, I felt the quality was above and beyond what you would expect. Once I opened the box and picked up the light, I was equally blown away with the build quality. It’s just amazing.I love this light so much. It’s so versatile and there are so many use cases for it. It’s relatively heavy because of its massive 12,000mAh battery but the battery life is outstanding because of it. The light is waterproof and will work in the rain. That being said, I have a couple of things I wish it had.First, I wish the light was taller when deployed. It’s around 3 ft tall when fully deployed, which is much shorter than I expected. 4 ft would have been perfect. The light has three brightness settings for all sorts of situations. The brightest setting is 500 lumens, which I think is sufficient for almost all situations but I do wish they had a 4th setting that was even brighter. If you’re in a camping situation, 500 lumens is going to be more than enough but it would be nice to have an even brighter setting for times when there’s a power outage at home. It would be awesome if a fourth brightness setting was available that was even brighter than 500 lumens.Overall, I’m very happy with this product and I’m tempted to buy more. I highly recommend this!

What I like:- The Futuristic design. it looks like a prop from a Sci-Fi movie.- The concept. Flashlight, table lantern, area light all in one. What I didn’t like:- The Price. You can buy a lot of basic flashlights and lanterns the cost of one unit!- The weight and balance. Front heavy design means it isn’t comfortable to use as a flashlight.- Not as rugged as I hoped. Plastic parts, and a switch that isn’t dust proof.- No carrying case providedWhen I ordered this camping lantern I didn’t appreciate how beautiful it is. It is without doubt the most amazing design of any lantern I own. It looks like a movie prop from some epic Sci-Fi saga, or the secret military gizmo that the special forces use to call in backup. In “desert yellow” it looks like it should be next to a lander on Mars rather than out in the street in Florida. However, looks aren’t everything. A light has to be practical, and in most ways this light is. It is bright, really bright on the highest setting. It has a good wide-angled throw with no hot spots which means it illuminates an area well. Using the magnetic tripod base on a car roof illuminates a camp or work site with ease. The two tones and three brightness settings mean you can switch from “fixing a flat work light” to “cozy tent reading light” in a couple of clicks of the button. The adjustable head means you can use it as a flood light, and up-light, a desk lamp, anything you can think of. The extending neck gives it some reach, but wasn’t as long as I anticipated. Fully extended the lamp is about 3 feet tall, so it’ll only work as a floor lamp if you are sat on the floor, or if you mount it well above waist height. All this is great, but there are some drawbacks. I’ll start with the obvious one, the price. This is an eye-wateringly expensive light. In the photos I compared it with a budget AA lamp and aside from sheer brightness I’d pick the budget lamp almsot every time. It can be used as a flashlight, whereas the OuTask is horribly balanced, bulky, and becomes a pain to carry after a few minutes. I don’t worry about dropping the budget lamp as it has a simple design, is easy to replace, the switch is dust and waterproof, and the whole unit floats in water, but the OuTask can’t match any of these features. In fact the manual explicitly states the switch isn’t dust proof. The expanding tripod base looks amazing but feels fragile with exposed springs and tiny crevices just waiting to jam on a bit of grit. As for floating, the manual explains that the different parts of the lamp react to water immersion in different ways, and there’s no chance it’ll float if it falls off the dock. The budget flashlight has a focused flashlight beam and a diffused lantern light, while the OuTask struggles as a flashlight because the beam is so diffused. On top of all that I could buy ten budget lights and a few rolls of duct tape for the price of one OuTask. Why am I still a 4 out of 5 review? It is tough to justify the price, but the design is beautiful, the construction is stylish, and it really is a unique light. It may be awkward to carry (a wrist strap is supplied, but a carrying case would be a better idea) but you will feel like an action hero every time you plant it on a surface and you’ll keep looking at it even when it is switched off.

The Outask Camping Lantern is a versatile and robust choice for outdoor enthusiasts. This portable, magnetic light, in a striking desert yellow color, is equipped with a substantial 12000mAh battery, ensuring long-lasting illumination for camping, hiking, or emergencies. The telescoping design is innovative, allowing users to adjust the intensity and range of light as needed. It’s IPX6/IPX7 waterproof rating is particularly impressive, making it resilient in various weather conditions, from heavy rain to accidental submersions. The magnetic base adds convenience, allowing it to be attached to metal surfaces for hands-free use. While the lantern is highly functional and durable, its weight might be a bit on the heavier side due to the large battery capacity. However, for those in need of a reliable, long-lasting, and versatile light source for outdoor activities, the Outask Camping Lantern is an excellent choice.

This light is close to completely awesome, but there are some fit and finish issues that take it down a notch, not to mention it is pricey for what it really is.The first negative we saw was the hexagonal sticker placement in the molded pockets. All but one side were correctly positioned. On something high end like this they need a better process to get those aligned. It bugged us. Thankfully this comes with a few sheets of those reflective stickers, which was interesting. Do people care enough to swap them out?Next is the tripod mechanism. It is cool to press the button and have the legs pop out, but the action feels cheap. You get a plastic on plastic clang and vibration from the springs on the legs. It reminded me of old nerf guns.We were surprised the body of the device is plastic. It looks like it would be aluminum in the listing. The surround of the LED is aluminum as expected. The light is great. It has a nice wide cast of light. You can change color temperature from what looks like 7000k to 2700k. Only those two settings, which is fine. You can also change the brightness or put it in multiple blinking modes. The telescopic action of the light is firm and smooth. That part is good. The magnetic feet also work well and have enough strength to hold on steel horizontally with the light fully extended.A few people said this looks like something from Portal. It has that vibe, it’s just missing that last touch of quality to be worth the price in our opinion.

Okay, I admit it. I’m kind of a camping lantern freak. I love gadgets and love when I find a new light that promises to be the next best thing. In this case, they’re right! This light is amazing. For one thing, it’s really a nice looking light. It’s also a nice weight. It doesn’t feel in the least bit cheap. It is sooo versitile. You can use it as a flashlight, or hang out for a lantern. You can control light via one button. If held down more than a few seconds, the light will turn on, control light intensity, and puts it in SOS mode. The button on the bottom pops out the tripod so you can put it in “lamp mode.” The bottoms of the tripod feet are magnetic, so you can stick it on metal surfaces that accept magnets. The pole extends to any length and creates a lamp effect which is really nice for working on a table at night as it doesn’t throw shadows like a lot of lanterns do. I used this as a lamp one night and left it on all night on low. The power indicator didn’t even go down light. Excellent!

I’m really trying, but I can’t for the life of me find $170 American dollars in this product. That said, it might take a minute to find it. We used it last night to grill after dark (you know – anytime after 4 pm these days) and accidentally left it on. It was still on this morning. And I mean On-on, not pitifully giving light in a two-inch circle. Okay, so that’s going to lean in favor of finding that $170.I still think it’s WILDLY overpriced, and I’m not sure my mind is going to change on that front. That sum buys a lot of lights and a lot of rechargeable batteries, so unless you’re trekking, you might do better saving the money. As a matter of fairness, I’m going to keep looking and see if I can find something that really sets this apart. If so, update, but if you’re still seeing this unmodified, I still don’t think it’s worth the price. This is 7/10, or 3.5/5, which rounds to 4, with the main complaint being the price point.

What it is: 2.36” round x 10.25” long (electing to 36” long) 12,000mAh LiOn rechargeable camping and work light. 2 tone gray, with orange tripod legs, gunmetal aluminum pivoting LED head. Features pushbutyon magnetic extendable tripod base with reflectors and stake holes, 4 segment charging/capacity LEDs, rubber dust cover for USB C charging port and USB power bank port, 3 brightness levels for cool and warm LED lighting, and SOS flash mode. Includes 3 titanium stakes, 1 usb to usb c charging cable, 3 sheets of 12 each hex reflector decals (white, neon green, neon orange), 1 sheet of 12 hex glow in the dark decals, multi language instructions, lanyard. Why I like it: First, it is large and heavy, so it isn’t a great choice for lightweight backpacking. The size and mass lend itself more towards RV/vehicle camping, a job site work light, or home emergency kit. That being stated, it does the job quite well, and looks quite futuristic doing so. I do a lot of cycling and IT work, so it stays on the truck. For IT work, I use it to light up a workspace (network cabinet, ceilings, etc., and it runs for many hours. When cycling, and I get back to my truck at dark, I use it to light up the area as I’m changing, and packing up my bike gear. It is also great for post ride hangs at the picnic area, lighting up the picnic table with a nice warm glow. The light levels and temperatures make it versatile for work or play. The aluminum heatsink LED enclosure pivots to shine the light where you need it—it will get quite warm, depending on the brightness and run time. The magnets are up to task, holding it in place on a vertical steel surfaces, and the tripod feet are released with a spring pushbutton on the base. The titanium stakes add some bling to the kit; the lanyard is thin, yet functional; the reflective and glow hex stickers allow you to add safety markers to other gear; and the power bank gives you lots of recharge capability with its 12,000mAh battery. Recharge times for the light take hours, depending on your charger output. Overall, a capable, albeit bulky LED light kit.

This is a very nice light and not only for camping but for other uses. It has some versatile use. I can see this being used as emergency light or working around work sites or at home. It has some weight to it so it may not be the best at carrying around long periods of time. Charges via the suppled USB-C cord with max 18w charging capability. Takes about 5 hours to completely charge from dead. Has 3 led status lights that gives you how much charge is left. Has a USB-A port to act like a power bank to charge other items. The tripod stand is fairly stable when left untouched. It doesn’t lock in place so it seems flimsy. The magnets on the tripod feet are strong to hold it sideways. The light is bright and love that you can have a yellow tint or white tint to the light that’s selectable. It has 3 settings (low, medium, and high). The high is very bright. The light head pivots for whatever angle you need. In order to extend the light, you pull on the light and it telescopes out. Fully extended, it stands about 3 feet tall.

I love this lantern. The design is awesome. Just pressing the button at the bottom opens up the tri-pod legs and then the top is a telescoping pole. The light is very bright and has a ton of settings to dim and brighten, blink, and even change the color temp from cool to warm. If you have it fully closed, you can project a little ring of light just to keep track of someone or something without creating too much light pollution if not wanted. It is extremely well built. It is heavy for a flashlight, but very light for a lantern. If you need a lantern, you’ll love this.

Every so often I encounter a product that makes me stop and say, “Wow, we really live in the future,” and this Outask Camping Lantern absolutely fits that bill! From top to bottom this light continues to surprise me with its features and versatility:- The lantern itself, which has three power settings controlled with a short press of the switch, maintains brightness suitable for a variety of applications; the highest of which could light an entire campsite with ease. Add in the fact that the light operates on a vertical/horzontal swivel, and this light becomes adaptable to nearly any lighting situation, including operating as a high-powered flashlight when needed- The housing of the light is constructed of an incredibly durable, yet lightweight, aluminum alloy that makes it capable of surviving the roughest of excursions.- The telescoping light pole is rigid and easy to deploy, casting light into and over any setup.- Perhaps the greatest feature, the magnetic tripod base, deploys with the press of a button. The spring loaded feet of the tripod are fantastically sturdy and fully capable of keeping the light steady, vertically or horizontally. Additionally, the magnets in the tripod base are strong and reliable. The first thing I did with this light when I took it out of the box was to deploy the tripod and stick it to the door of my refrigerator. It gripped with ease, and it didn’t slide an inch when I pulled the telescope arm out and turned the light back and forth… If a surface is steel, this thing will stick whether it be vertical, horizontal, or upside down!Needless to say, this product has blown my expectations out of the water. What seemed overpriced at first glance is anything but… Given the variety of applications for which this is suited it will easily be my go to light for power outages, low light work in the garage, camping excursions, road trips, and any number of other applications. While it may seem cliché, I mean it when I say, “If I could give this product more than five stars, I would!”

This light is a thing of beauty. The design aesthetics and construction feel of incredible quality. The only thing that might bother someone that is detailed oriented is that the reflective hex stickers around the base are not rotated in the same direction. And they all seam to have been bent when applying. That’s a minor attention to detail item. That being said, it is big and heavy. I do not see myself back packing it. The weigh and dimension puts it into the car camping category for me. It is versatile. But I prefer a lightweight headlamp that aims where my head aims. And a hanging lantern for area lighting. The overall telescopic length requires that the light be elevated to provide similar area light. It would be good if there was a little visual indicator for the tripod button. Not just have it written in the directions. One issue I had with the tripod was that the slightest bit of dirt from the ground kept the legs from fully locking closed. There was barely anything on the bottom, but the feet had to basically be spotless for it to close properly. The magnets work well enough, but my modern truck has mostly aluminum body panels. So the idea of sticking it to the side does not work out. There is a tiny little lanyard. I did not see in the instructions a way to pull it out further. In it’s limited use function, this thing is just so attractive. It feels like a jack of all trades. For the same cost, I can get a high quality lightweight headlamp and a torch for backpacking and a nice latern for car camping.

I camp regularly and I’ve used several different types of camp lanterns but I’ve never loved one before getting this one. It’s solid as a rock but SO versatile. It has tripod legs so it can be used as a table lamp or night light like a standard lantern. But the beauty here is that the light head can extend up and rotate around to give you illumination for tasks. The light can dim, brighten, or change value from warm to cool. The thing it can do that no other light that I used can do is to work as a street light when you’re hiking at night. You just extend the light to full height then drop the base into your pack. Now you’ve got a little light floating above your head lighting up the trail and the surrounding area. That’s a great feature. I’m really in love with this camp light.

I really like this camping lantern from Outask. Though I am not a frequent camper, I needed something more than a cheap flashlight to keep in the trunk of my car. Several times, I have found myself in need of something like this at night. I love that it is magnetic and waterproof–it can hang on the side of my car in the rain. I also love that it can charge your phone in a pinch. It’s very compact and looks tactical. It feels sturdy to the touch and folds out easily. Its mechanisms glide easily into place and it folds up very compactly. It’s a great product!

This is a really great compact and lightweight camping lantern. The adjustability and brightness is great. I really appreciate that I can adjust the orientation of the light source for different purposes. It is a bit expensive compared to other similar products but I hope that will show in the longevity of the product.

This is one of my most favorite lights that I’ve used.Super solid build quality, and has great light output.Really interesting design, this light does a lot of things very well. The telescoping allows the light source to be raised fairly high, and the different modes allow the brightness to be adjusted through a nice range.Battery life has been superb, and it has such a nice quality feel over all.A little pricey, but the quality and versatility make it a pretty solid value.

Okay $169 for a camping lantern may seem pretty extreme. But before you say no, let me try and convince you.First off the foot print of this lantern is remarkable. It’s small, slim but with some heft to it. I would say in terms of size it’s not much bigger than a traditional flashlight that takes “C” batteries. We all know what I’m talking about. This lamp though is much more sturdy and the materials are great. Upon first inspection I was more than impressed with the build quality. It seems tough and rugged and built for the outdoors.Performance wise, this thing is crazy good. Not only is the lamp versatile. You can change the brightness levels, the temperature, direction of the lighting, attach it to a magnetic surface, it’s telescopic for wide flood lighting or small enough and compact enough to use like a flashlight and it has a 12,000 mAH battery that not only runs this lantern for an extremely long time but can charge other devices as well.My main purpose for ordering this was to have a backup light source if the power goes out. I live in an area where outages seem more common than others and being able to have a light source that I can rely on is a big relief. I have not had to use it in that capacity yet. But for emergency lighting, back up lighting and just general use this lamp/lantern has been exceptional. If anything is the peace of mind knowing I have a trusted light source whenever needed is worth the price alone. I would not hesitate to buy it again and would definitely recommend it to anyone who has the means to buy one.

Got this light to use for a multitude of things, but mostly as an emergency light, and as a light to work on my car, outside, at night time. This outask latern is extremely unique, and highly adjustable. On the bottom, the three legged stand pops out at the press of a button, spring loaded, and magnet-footed. The magnet feet are awesome for sticking it into metallic surfaces, something I didn’t realize until I used it to work on my car.It comes with stakes that you can put through the feet in an outdoors situation, which is nice, but I don’t see myself using often. The central area of the device has an on button with battery indicator, which works well to switch between cold and warm light, as well to adjust the 3 brightness settings. On top, there’s a telescoping stick with the light mounted to it. The light mount is awesome because it can point in any direction at all, including facing down. Every orientation is useful and it makes it really easy to get light in the places you want. You could even sort of use it as a flashlight but it is really more of a flood style light.I absolutely love this thing, and the battery life is excellent, even with it at its brightest setting. You’ll easily get a couple hours on max brightness before you have to charge again, which is slow, but not usually an issue. Only real issue with it I have is that I wish the stick on top was a tad longer. It is very strong though so it sort of makes up for it. Last thing to keep in mind, the price. It is extremely expensive for a camping lantern. You could easily get a gas one that will put out more light or something cheaper that will do the same job. But… It is veryyy cool and very useful.

As someone gearing up for an upcoming camping trip, I decided to test it out in my yard, and it’s already proving to be a perfect lighting solution. The versatility of this lantern is outstanding. It transforms effortlessly into a flashlight, high tripod light, table light, and even a backpack light. This adaptability makes it an ideal choice not just for camping but also for various outdoor activities like hiking, hunting, and backyard BBQs. I’m even considering it as a thoughtful gift for friends and family who enjoy the outdoors. The telescopic and collapsible design adds a layer of convenience that I truly appreciate. It’s highly portable and fits seamlessly into my backpack pocket, ensuring a moving camping light that follows me wherever I go.The 720° rotation feature is a game-changer, providing unparalleled lighting flexibility. The ability to shine light into any corner without limitations significantly enhances the camping experience. The magnetic design is another standout feature, allowing firm attachment to metal surfaces, making it perfect for various scenarios, from RV camping to car repairs.Crafted with high-quality materials, including aviation-grade aluminum and PC/ABS plastic, the lantern exudes durability. Its waterproof design, certified by CNAS, adds to its reliability, ensuring it withstands the elements during outdoor adventures. With three adjustable brightness levels and the flexibility to switch between warm and cold light, the Outask Camping Lantern truly offers a customizable lighting experience. I can’t wait to use it on my camping trip, and I’m confident it’ll exceed my expectations.

I picked up this camping lantern, and it’s turned out to be a solid choice. As a tabletop unit, it works great – sturdy, durable, and feels really well-built. I can tell it’s going to last a long time. The light it gives off is good, but I was hoping for a bit more brightness. Also, it would be awesome if it could telescope a bit further, so it could stand on its own rather than needing a table or something for height.Despite those minor wishes, it’s a great outdoor light overall.

This extendable lamp is a perfect accessory for camping or hiking trips. Yes, it’s not light, so it will add a couple of pounds to your gear, but it also does a lot in terms of illumination. The spring loaded legs and extendable pole make this great for a base camp setup. The agents on each leg are powerful. My third posture shows it fully extended attached perpendicular to the ground on my dishwasher. It held easily, and needed a bit of effort to remove. This would be great to put atop a car for even more area lighting of a camp site. The adjustable brightness and color temperature are nice features, as well as the ability to charge a USB device from it, using it as a power bank. The SOS is an actual SOS signal, not just a blinking light. I do have a couple of criticisms however, wish this had come with a carry case or bag to stop scuff marks and to hold the included metal stakes and extra reflective hexagons. I also would have loved for this to have a red light mode to provide illumination while also protecting night vision. To me, especially at this price point, these are two things this should absolutely include, as they would make this the ultimate outdoor area lamp. Nonetheless, I would absolutely recommend it!

Ok, let me first start with saying that my husband is a light junkie; he has tons of various flashlights, lanterns, spotlights, etc. With that being said, we have lights that range from cheap dollar store lights to $350 portable lights. This particular light is a nice size. I would compare it to the size of two, 12 ounce soda cans stacked on top of each other with slightly larger circumference. It is lightweight and portable. The charge holds up well. We used it on high on our porch for 2 evenings of about 2-3 hours each, and it was still going strong. It lit up our entire porch area. It can be rotated to shine at just able any angle, which is awesome. Overall, the function and portability of this light is an A+. My main issue with the light is the price. While the light is really nice, the price tag leaves a little to be desired. Compared to the other lights we have, I would think this light should be priced more around $85-$95; I think the $169 price tag is quite a bit on the high side. Otherwise, it is a great light!

I enjoyed this light so much I got a second. For backpacking purposes, it’s just hard to beat. It packs small and is quite light, while being a battery bank, flashlight, and versatile standalone lantern. 12000mAh is a ton of juice, and it’s easy enough to refill off my solar panel it the trip is even long enough to merit it. Sure, a part of camp is unplugging, but I still have map apps and the camera I like to use, as well as, on longer journeys, the need to refuel my main camera. At night it’s the go to bathroom flashlight that quickly deploys to handsfree lantern. Trying to get things together in the dark, maybe to go star gazing or catch the sunrise? The low power setting saves your night visions from too much and disturbing everyone else at the campground. Is that something trying for the bear hang? Full brightness will have you feeling confident to find out. It’s held up against some rough drops and falls without loss of function, just cosmetic scars. It’s not my “favorite” piece of equipment but it sure is feeling like must-have kit.

I was very intrigued with this light when I first saw it, the design and features really sold me on how useful this could be. While the retail price of $170 seemed a little steep initially, I thought about how I have paid high prices before for STREAMLIGHT and SUREFIRE flashlights and I do believe that there is a value in a high quality tools and equipment. When I first unpacked the light, I was very happy to see that the materials and build quality was very high. My first test even before turning on the light was to see how well the legs worked since those tripod legs aren’t always easy to use or sturdy. I was very pleasantly surprised that they legs deployed easily with a push of a button and are assisted by a spring action that fully deploys the legs. The legs are also very sturdy and rigid and creates a very stable base for the light. I then stuck the unit on the refrigerator door and the light held perfectly. This feature will be so useful whether its attached to a bear box to illuminate the cooking area or to your car to fix that flat in the middle of the night. My one gripe is that the legs have some hard plastic feet where I would have liked to see a rubbery material that will provide a little more protection if you attach it to your car.Next I tested the light and it works great. It easily moves into practically any position you will need. Any the telescopic head allow for large area illumination or cozy tabletop glow that doesn’t give you the glare you get from the typical lantern. The thoughtfulness that was built into the features of this light makes this more than just a camp lantern. While pricey, the build quality that I have witnessed warrants the high price. Instead of just living in my camping kit, this light will probably stay in my car trunk so that it is available for any of my needs (including an emergency powerbank)

This light is very impressive, has a telescopic pole, rechargeable, magnetic feet, lasts forever on one charge, I used it 4 nights in a row on a single charge, of course I used the Amber colored light on almost the low setting, but it was still good enough to be able to see, well worth the money, very durable and sturdy, and can also be used as a flashlight if needed!

I have a number of flashlights and lanterns and I’ll say this light is the best one I have ever seen. This company apparently started with a kick starter campaign and spent 2 years developing this product and they hit it out of the park. This is a super well made and heavy duty product that has so many cool features. It can be used in its compact state as a flash light or it can be extended and offers tripod feet that have heavy magnets so you can attach it to a metal surface. The light has 3 brightness settings as well as color temperature settings. Once extended the light head can be rotated and tilted to whatever orientation you want. I have been using it on my deck at night and it lights up everything. It charges quickly and really lasts. $169.00 may not seem inexpensive but it is worth every penny. Great product and highly recommended.

I was pressured by family members to order this, even though I thought it was crazy to get such an expensive “flashlight”. I’m glad they twisted my arm.Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s extremely useful. It’s so convenient to have a light that is so adjustable. We’ve been using it for everything. We live in a rural area and have land and animals, so there is always something going on at night. No matter where we need light, this does the job.We also do a lot of work on our cars, and this thing is great as a work light. This afternoon, I was replacing a dryer heating element that was in the front bottom off the machine, so having this light laying on its side inside the machine and shining light up exactly where I needed it made the job a lot easier. The light is crazy bright, but since you can point it exactly where you need it, you can use it without blinding yourself. One of the neat ways to use it is to open the tripod and extend the telescoping stalk all the way up and shine the light straight up. It will light an entire room well enough to function without being irritating at all.You can also change the color temperature to a softer yellow if you prefer.I’m quite pleased with this light, and we’ve been using it all of the time.

You will probably never need any other light want to purchase this item. It’s a tripod it’s magnetic. It comes with ground stakes and there is a telescoping feature so you can extend the light if needed. The tilt function is extremely useful, especially when using it and it’s magnetic form, such as working on cars or the like, and needing to angle it. I really love that we can set this overhead and then extend the light almost working like a street light above us without needing to actually hold it to illuminate a certain area.

The battery lasts for hours also. Grab one today, you won’t regret it.

This is really well made. It’s strong and sturdy. It’s easy to use as the top telescopes out easily and the legs are sturdy. The light is very bright. We’ve taken this camping and also have used it for a variety of other uses, including working on my motorcycle in the middle of the night. I feel that it’s worth the expensive price tag.

I got this light because I had more than one occasion where I needed more light but didn’t have an extra pair of hands to hold it. Having the stand built into the light is incredibly useful. I am able to extend the light and set it on the ground and nicely illuminate my surroundings, and I am also able to carry it as a normal flashlight while I am walking. Having the magnetic base is also super useful. I don’t have great lighting over my workbench in the garage, but I am able to stick this to my metal wall so that it is extended parallel to my work station and have it well lit in no time. All that said, it isn’t perfect. It could have a longer battery life and the light could be a little brighter (there are a 3 different light intensities as well as cool and warm lighting options). Overall, it is a great light and one that I will continue to keep in my truck.

This multipurpose light is of exceptional quality. Its sturdy construction suggests remarkable durability. The ability to collapse into a compact form factor makes it ideal for backpacking and camping excursions. While it may not be the lightest option due to its substantial battery, it remains conveniently portable. The overall design and functionality of this light are commendable.

This is really a clever design. Basically, advancements in LED and battery technology now mean that you can have something that works more like a good-sized construction job site light than a flashlight or even a camping lantern, in a package that folds down so compactly that it can fit in a tool bag or even a backpack. In operation, it really does feel a bit like something out of a science fiction movie, because something that performs like this is normally supposed to be a lot larger, it just kind of resets your expectations of what is possible.Inside, point it up at the ceiling and it is like one of those big old torchiere lamps that lights up the whole room with indirect light, point it at a wall and now you have a good, wide-area work light, then close it up and point it straight down and now it becomes a small table lamp for sitting around the picnic table at a campsite or in a power outage. The magnetic feet mean you could stick it on your vehicle, etc. so there are an almost unlimited number of ways you could use this thing. It is too big and too awkward to be a flashlight, although you could use it as one in a pinch. The main limitation on using this thing is that you never want to look directly at the light itself or have the bare bulb directly in your line of site. Even on low, it is putting out enough light that looking directly at it is unpleasant. So it is really for indirect lighting only.It seems pretty well-built and solid. The tripod feet and the body containing the battery are plastic, but the expanding pole is metal, along with the head that contains the LEDs. It comes with stakes to hold it to the ground in windy conditions, and it should be able to handle at least light rain.I think it is primarily supposed to be used for camping, power-outages and stuff like that. But it feels like a kind of miniaturized job site light and I expect a lot of people are thinking about using it that way. For a simple camping light it is pretty expensive, but in comparison to a traditional job site light, particularly one that is battery powered, it is a relative bargain.I think the answer on using it as a job site light is maybe, basically depending on how roughly you want to treat it.I don’t worry much about it surviving in the tool bag, it seems rugged enough when folded up and you can fold the emitter side in during transport to keep it from getting scratched or broken. On the other hand, I don’t think I’d want it to get covered with plaster dust when it is opened up and in operation. The telescope mechanism, the little expanding tripod feet etc. probably won’t cope with getting completely covered with dust and sand particularly well. So it is probably not for truly rough service, it isn’t going to replace your wobble light or anything like that. There is no dust cover on the power switch, although the charge ports are at least covered with a rubber grommet. So yes, it can be a job site light if you are willing to baby it a bit, but it is not really designed to get truly abused.Overall, I like it, and I expect most people who buy this thing will like everything about it except for the high purchase price.

One of the best choices I’ve made this year… This light is worth its weight in gold. Excellent lamp that extends about 3 feet tall. Works great as a camp signal light and emergency strobe (S.O.S.) if needed. Very well made. Doesn’t feel cheap or fragile at all. Excellent weight, and the built in tripod legs makes it very stable and they are spring loaded with a push button. I love the magnetic stand that you can stick it into any metal serfs. Battery life is great as well.Loving this light so much and i do recommended highly 👌🏼

This is a nice lantern with many design features I like. There are some lower cost knockoffs to this brand which I also own. There is a significant difference between them. Both are good… this is noticeably better. The light has a base that pops out of the case into a tripod at the push of a button (knockoff doesn’t have this button) on the bottom for stability and comes with 3 small stakes to push into the ground for even more stability. I’ve already misplaced the stakes. A case to hold stakes and lantern would be nice. The legs can be pushed back into the body by pushing on the orange struts under the legs where they can be clicked back into the body and don’t come loose. The bottom of the legs have powerful magnets to attach to a metal surface. I would not use the magnets to hang this upside down. The light is too heavy for that… any bump and it drops. One neat thing about the magnets is that when the legs are retracted into the body, the magnets are covered up… those not attracting metal items when in a pack or bag.The light head is on a telescoping pole that can be extended 25 inches (I measured, didn’t see captured anywhere). The light head itself can be tilted a full 180 degrees. The light can shine as any angle for direct or indirect light by bouncing it off walls. The light can also function as a wide dispersal flashlight by pulling the post out slightly, flipping the light head over so it shines up and then pushing the post back into the body. Now a wide angled flashlight. Cute. There is one button to handle all the operating modes.- 3 second push to turn on and to turn off- When turning on, the light defaults to the lowest bright nice in the cold white color (there is also a yellow color).- Double clicking switches between the light warmth setting of cool white and yellow- Single clicking cycles the intensity of the from low/med/high- I don’t recall any other settings from that buttonNotes between THIS light and lower cost knockoffs…- The highest brightness level is noticeably brighter than the knockoff- The light’s base is wider- The height of the telescoping post is greater with this light- There are reflective hexagon pieces about 1/2 in diameter around the lower part of the body. I guess to make this easier to find in the dark if it rolls away from camp.Overall, this is an extremely useful and capable camp light

I wasn’t expecting to love this so much! I use it a lot, even just for going outside at night when not camping. I’ve used it as a mechanic’s light as its magnetic on the bottom so you can stick it to the underside of a car’s hood. It also has a tripod and the handle extends. I’ve used it in the house during power outages. I like that I can extend the handle, so I do that and walk around with the light shining out in front of me. The light is built well and made with quality components. The charge lasts a long time too and you can use it as a charger for you phone when needed. What’s not to love? Was a lil expensive though, but worth it.

Like most of the other reviews of this, I was intrigued by the design and my imagination went wild with dreaming up the possibilities. After a couple of months in my cart I finally pulled the trigger despite the high price tag and finally got my hands on it.After holding it and seeing it in person I can’t say I’m not impressed, but I am also disappointed. The design is smart but the build quality feels flimsy for what I paid. The tripod half at the bottom is constructed entirely of plastic with a cheap and toy-like feel, while the upper half of the housing with the battery and controls is significantly heavier. This makes the whole unit top heavy and awkward to use as a handheld flashlight or stuffed into a backpack water bottle pocket as a handsfree light while night hiking (both uses suggested by Outask in their product photos and instruction sheet).Despite the hollow and cheap plastic base the tripod is reasonably stable under normal conditions, but the included tent stakes are a must in any kind of wind or weather if the lamp pole is going to be extended. The controls are a bit fiddly and not intuitive – short press to check battery status, long press to turn on the light, short press after it’s on to adjust brightness, double-press to change modes between white, amber and SOS flashing. It’s not a deal breaker but every other flashlight in the world just turns on when you tap the button. The control pattern makes it feel like a power bank that just happens to have a light added as an afterthought. And yes, it does function as a power bank with a USB output connector for your phone’s charging cable. The advertised 12,000 mAH battery seems suspiciously underpowered and I suspect anyone actually testing the capacity would find it to be a lot lower under real world conditions.Perhaps the worst feature here, however, is that the battery starts to self-discharge immediately and will be nearly drained after just a couple of weeks. Anyone hoping to rely on this as emergency lighting in a power outage or roadside situation may find themselves literally in the dark without constantly babysitting this lantern and keeping it plugged in.I can overlook the design fumbles but having an unreliable battery makes this a hard item to recommend to anyone.

I’ve tried this lantern and the knockoffs – this one is much better. Even the ability to rotate the light infinitely is worth the additional expense over the others. Additional waterproofing and the spring-loaded legs are also an advantage. My only real negative is that I wish the LED heatsink were color matched to the body. But it’s not a big deal.

This light has been a solid addition to my kit. The battery life is strong, and I appreciate the amount of light it gives off for its size. The tilt feature is a big plus—makes it easy to adjust the beam just where I need it. While it’s not the most powerful light I own, it hits a great balance between portability and brightness. Just keep in mind it’s a lantern, not a spotlight and not meant for throwing long distances.

Ok. This is a great light so far. The design is very well thought out, and it’s always a good idea to bring gear that can serve more than one purpose/function. This certainly fits the bill. It can function as a lantern, hand held flashlight, signal, and spotlight. The magnets are quite strong, so you can reliably stick it to a metal surface without fear of it accidentally falling down under its own weight. It comes with multiple types of extra reflective tape, and it is very intuitive to use; all the functions can be done with only a single button. If you are familiar with using an OLight, then operating this light be a joke. One thing want to add though: I haven’t owned or used this light long enough or hard enough for me to confidently attest to its long term durability. It certainly seems durable, but only time will tell. This also applies to whether or not it is reasonably priced. It is quite expensive, so it value or lack thereof will hinge on its longevity. I will certainly update this review if I encounter any issues.

The size is accurate, but in my head, because of others I had looked at, this was shorter than expected. I bought it for camping. It is quite heavy, so car camping only. We actually use it in our storage unit instead and it is perfect. The magnetic feature is exactly what we need and they are good and strong. I charged it to full in August and we don’t use it a lot, but we use it on high in storage to light up the whole space and have not had to recharge it yet.

So, first off, this will be a little confusing because I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I’ll hit that at the end because there is one relatively major design flaw.Let’s start off with the good:I LOVE LOVE LOVE this piece of gear. It has been a long time since I have been so excited about a piece of tech. I unconsciously and consciously look for reasons to use it:1) Camping light? obviously2) Got a splinter? Get light on it from any angle, No more using my chin to hold my phone flash light or sitting on a countertop to see the splinter.3) Work light? Absolutely.4) Need a light to look in the garage? Screw asking alexa to turn on the garage light, way to hard. So much easier to walk across the entire house to pull my new “flashlight” out of the closet.5) Want to change the lighting ambiance in your room? Sure thing here you go.All of these and more. Magnetic connection, hanging it from the loop, putting the stand up. All awesome. It FEELS nice to use, its fun to use, and it’s useful. So why dock the star?MANUFACTURER PAY ATTENTION:The clasp, when closing it from the stand to the flashlight mode, is less than ideal. I took it camping in a very dusty and sandy area. The clasp mechanism has some sand in it. Its a bit tough to clean out, and it took a week to close correctly every time.If you could get a more robust clasp in flashlight mode, that is a bit more dustproof and a bit stronger, then this is 100% perfection.Regardless, this is still one of the best purchases of all time.

……first off, I applied for the $20 off coupon and didn’t receive it. This thing is way too expensive $159.00 for what it is. Seen it on a few gear review videos and took a chance. Should have purchased the ones in the $50-79.00 section as the look almost identical.

The first thing I noticed was how well made the lamp is. Then I started testing it out after charging it fully. Everything worked as claimed. The white light is very bright. I will be using it both inside as a floor lamp in my “man” cave and as a camp light.

I just received one of these as a late Christmas present and wow, very impressed with this light and the quality of build!! If you’re on the fence jump off get one!! The black is really cool because it has a transparent upper body and you can see the batteries light up, that’s why it 200!!

I originally backed this on Kickstarter to use for field dressing elk after dark and while it works well for that, I found my self using it even more around the house so I bought a second one. I’ve used it for grilling in the dark, outdoor projects that went beyond sunset, camping and even as a makeshift ring light for video meetings because the lighting in my office is so bad. These are sturdy, well constructed, and just an all around handy piece of equipment.

Not cheap but well worth the money based on my short term use. Be sure to also get the storage case.

I can’t comment yet on durability, but it’s been on two trips with me so far and completely lives up to the description. It isn’t tiny or weightless, but that’s fine by me. I’d rather have solid functionality. The battery run-time seems to be very close to what’s advertised; the near-infinite adjustability of the light element is excellent; and the tripod base magnets, and mounting options are very good. Everything I needed in a light and nothing I didn’t. Recommended.

Works great. Has held a full charge since purchasing. We used it in a power outage and was flawless. I went ahead and purchased, separately a case from Amazon that complements the purchase.

It’s a lot shorter than the pictures. Only about 3′ tall. Does not reach up to waist hight. Also not super bright. Disappointing for $160-$200, maybe worth $30.

I have zero complaints about this light. It is small, light, compact and very bright. I use it every time I go camping. I love that the bottom is magnetized. I can attach it to my truck and it won’t slide or move around. It’s just tall enough to light up tables and other projects and the battery life is excellent. I’ve even used the charging port to charge my phone a couple times. Exellent product! Excellent value!

Former combat vet, I’d buy one, if the led could cycle red and white. I’d buy two if it cycled red, green, blue, and white.

Works great. Light lasted all night and into the next day. Sat it on a picnic table at a campground, turned the light to project upward into our canapy and we had good light all night.

Quality control may be nonexistent because someone or some people got away with shipping me a used product when I paid the full price for it to be brand new. The scuffs on my unit near the main button and charging port are small enough so that you wouldn’t notice them unless you looked at them up close with another light source. The paper that separates the body and the light element had clear fingerprints on it as well. Aside from that, it works and charges like normal. This thing could still be way cheaper though (it was $59 as a Kickstarter super early bird reward in 2022)

Got this on Kickstarter. Accidentally dropped it about two feet and cracked a tiny plastic part that keeps one of the legs closed. Overall it’s a bright light, that works well. Durability is questionable.

This light is pretty awesome! I do have to say that I thought it would expand taller than it does, I should of read the description a little more closely but overall I’m very satisfied.

Cool alternative to a flashlight, but for the price the base feet should have a lock in place.

I literally unboxed it, pushed the button to deploy the legs, and the entire base of the unit snapped off. Plastic parts for the whole thing. I owned it for about 30 seconds. What a waste of money.
