This compact little unit is capable of making espresso coffee when and about by supposedly storing hot water in the top, and freshly ground or pre-ground coffee in the bottom. There is no battery or mains charging required as the coffee is brewed manually by using the built-in pressure pump.Included in the unit is drip tray, coffee spoon (to hold the coffee initially), and brush which are all stored in the top of the unit when it is not in use, together with a small cup, and coffee strainer, which can be adjusted to serve 8g or 12g of coffee to vary the strength, both of which are attached to the bottom of the unit. A small storage pouch is also provided. To use the unit the various parts need to be removed from it, and then the coffee spoon is filled with coffee and the brush used to remove any excess and then strainer is placed over the top and whole thing inverted so that the coffee ends up in the strainer. The coffee can then be tamped down using the base of the coffee spoon, dependant on how coarse the coffee is. I used pre-ground and the coffee is quite coarse so tamping it down could not be done. The strainer can then be screwed back into the base of the main unit and the coffee cup pushed on. I then filled the top with boiling water to the appropriate mark and replaced the main cover cap and tightened it to ensure it was water tight. To see how good it was in retaining the heat, I left the unit for an hour and then checked whether the water was still hot, but unfortunately it was only really lukewarm, so quite disappointing. There is supposed be some thermal insulation but clearly insufficient to keep the water hot, which would be essential when preparing the unit before taking out and about. The coffee can be dispensed into coffee cup by first unlocking the pump at the side of the by turning it anti-clockwise. Once released it is now a matter of pumping the unit in the vertical position while holding it over the cup. This worked fine and the coffee was readily dispensed without issue, but of course it was much colder than it should have been, had the unit retained the heat from the boiling water. So overall this should have been quite a clever little unit and perfect for espresso lovers but regrettably it is not really fit for travelling since it couldn’t retain the heat from the boiling water so disappointing.

Beh, come trovare acqua calda? E filtrata, in aggiunta?

This Minispresso is small but packed with features. It comes with: a cap that acts as a cup, it has a cleaning brush, a funnel, adjustable coffee basket (2 capacity), video instructions via QR code, an actual manual, and a pouch. It is not hard to figure out but I did watch the video to see what the tools were. It is manual, so you need to start off with several pumps before you see the espresso come out of the spout. Not bad for an eco friendly and compact espresso maker. … oh and one shot at a time only 😊

I love this for personal use at home or anywhere that has hot water. I let the hot water sit in the device for 5 minutes before I pump. As you pump the pressure builds and out comes hot espresso.

This little thing is very well packaged and thought out. It’s very clear that the designers took their time on this product and I’m very impressed by the engineering.Be warned that this isn’t a quick dump in your grinds and push some buttons type of device. To get a good cup you have to be very maticulous in how you use it to get good results. It also takes A LOT of effort to push the button to make your coffee. We’re talking maximum effort for a very small cup of coffee… but that’s how it’s designed on purpose… I’m not making mention as a critique of the product, more-so a warning to those who aren’t aware of just how much effort it takes to use.

The Good:-Makes a great cup of coffee (crema and everything)-Multiple capacities-Comes with bag-Small designThe OK:-Setup is a lot more work than most other coffee options (really espresso in general)The Bad:-Takes like 10 minutes of constant pumping to get 2 shots at max ground capacityI had to give this thing a shot with the award it got (no idea what the award actually is for) and the idea of being able to make espresso on the go. To start off they give you a great package including a bag and all the tools store internally. Filter basket accommodates 2 different ground amounts (assumably for double shots). Setup is pretty easy but a lot more work than a French press or pour over. The real drawback to this thing is the incredible amount of time it takes to extract shots, you’ll basically do it one time on full capacity. Coffee quality was great and it really does extract crema just like an espresso machine. It’s just hard to recommend something that takes 15 minutes (including setup) to create 2 shots. Personally, I’ll stick to my French press for camping but it can be a fun time waster for that guy you like to play jokes on.

I’m always searching for a good espresso solution when camping. This one is pretty easy to use and I like the results a bit better than my aeropress. I’ve no idea about the 18 bar claims — that seems like a lot — but the added pressure does bring out more oily goodness and the flavor shows. I found I had better luck with my darker beans but even my medium roast was decent — definitely good enough for camping standards! Ok, camping standards are pretty low so that’s not really fair. This thing makes a decent cup of espresso/coffee with less effort than some competing options.

Initially, I was on the fence with this one. The size was small, but the coffee quality wasn’t impressive. I almost returned it. Then I decided to give it a chance and took it with me for an overnight business trip.I don’t know why but every time I make coffee, it gets better. I guess you definitely need practice with this.I have decided to keep it as I often have business trips and hotel rooms don’t always have a coffee machine.Surprisingly small, too.

As you can see from my photo, the espresso looks beautiful with a lot of crema on top. It fills the espresso cup – I used 12g of coffee and max water. The taste was just as good as what you’d get from a coffee shop. It was absolutely delicious and I was 100% happy with it. You can only make one shot at a time, so if you want to make latte, it’ll cost you some effort because you’ll have to go through the coffee making process more than once. But it will save you a lot of money. Most people use this for camping or travel, but I use it at home because it saves a lot of space compared to a full sized machine.

This portable espresso maker exceeded my expectations. It is very well put together and made out of quality materials. I put it to the test and the instructions were very clear and easy to use. It makes a perfect option on the go or even to just have aside in the office or on the job when you need an extra little bit of caffeine. It makes the perfect cup of espresso everytime, just need hot water, the hotter the better and simply pump, once it’s primed the espresso starts to pour out.The cleaning is super easy, everything breaks apart a to make sure you get any coffee grit out, just clean and leave to dry overnight on the counter and you’re good.10/10 product and can’t wait to pack it with me on some longer work days

This product is so simple to use, and is compact (even smaller than the original, which I also own), you can take this anywhere you have access to hot water and want to indulge in your favorite espresso/brew! This does only make enough for one espresso, and the last couple twists of the press can be tight, but this is a wonderful and more portable alternative to a French press. This is small enough it can really fit in any purse or slingback. A solid device from a great brand.

I kayak flatwater recreationally and I love to paddle for miles and miles until I’m exhausted, then turn around and come back downstream – or I’ll stay out for a day or two and camp along the river. This espresso maker is something I had never heard of and had no idea I needed until I noticed that it existed. I never though to search for one – didn’t know there was such a thing.I pack very light when kayaking, hiking or camping and never in the world thought I could wake up to espresso. With this I can grab my life straw, filter some river water – boil it on my BioLite and make a cup of espresso in the morning. Which is very disorienting and feels quite surreal the first time. Coffee is an easy, light way to keep some caffeine and honestly is a crazy luxury worth the cost of admission here. It’s fussy to use and difficult to learn but it does make great coffee and includes everything you need into an extremely clever design. It is not inexpensive but it is a great value.

Really neat item for espresso on the go. It packs compactly and is pretty easy to use and clean. The espresso produced from this is okay, not as good as my automatic machine, but still enjoyable especially given its use case. This would be a terrific option for camping or a neat gift idea for the coffee lover in your life.

Truthfully I really wasn’t expecting much from this travel Espresso Machine and I was honestly blown away with the results! The instructions were very clear, add hot water, the espresso grinds, then pump. The results speak for themselves! a great cup of espresso and it even had the nice froth on top! If your espresso isn’t good from using this contraption it could be one of the following, your espresso grinds are old or bad quality, your water isn’t hot enough, or you’re pumping too fast. I am very happy with this product! 100% going into my travel bag whenever I am not home.

Ok so this will make a pretty decent expresso and its pretty easy to clean and use gor the most part but its something id say works best around a sink cause it makes things way easier. Works well cold or hot but best used with boiling water . It be nice if it held about double the espresso cause i find myself always making more then one at a time. If you get any grinds on the threads it will leak and not work correctly but other then that its a pretty great compact espresso maker

This little espresso press is impressively small, easily fits in the palm of your hand and is pretty packable. It includes a little sleeve to carry it in and the plunger you use to make the coffee pushes in and locks in place to not take up space, so you can just ulock it to pop it out when needed. There is also a little coffee grains scoop that fits into the water compartment so you can take it out and use it when needed. The unit is not for heating the water, you have to add hot water, the coffee grains, and then you can make a small cup of hot coffee. The press works well, but you will be doing a little bit of work to plunge the unit to build up pressure to force the water throuhg the coffee gains. It makes a decent cup of coffee, though, and if you are a coffee person having a cup of coffee when you are tired, drain, or worn out just might be the thing to keep you going and happy on your adventures!

I picked this up so I wouldn’t need to wait around at the local coffee shop before hitting the road. I travel a lot for work and when I’m traveling alone, I like to wake up, clean up, and drink up in 30 mins or less and get out ASAP. I usually use the in-room coffee pot to heat up water but those tend to gross me out. So I added a potable hot water maker to my packing list. Either way, I start off with a shot or two of espresso before I hit the road and supplement that with a cup of coffee from the lobby to go. Espresso just helps eliminate unnecessary bathroom breaks if I’m out driving in rural areas and making house calls since it is less liquid. If it’s just an overnight, I might pack the coffee into the MiniPresso and forgo the extra grounds. Otherwise, I’ll bring a little ziplock with me of extra grounds. Using the cigarette lighter, I’ll boil water in my hot pot while I drive and this stays hot for several hours so when I need a break, I’m all ready to go. The downside of doing this on the road is the mess which you can eliminate if you practice enough. Obviously, if you are in the hotel room or lunch room the clean up is much easier but if you are pulled over at a rest area you may need a few napkins and a knife to get the grounds out and clean up. If traveling via air, I suggest a plastic spoon and just snap off the handle and throw that away, keeping the spoon part for a scooper and scraper. In short, having a table and 2 napkins is very helpful along with some fresh water to clean things up.If I’m traveling with colleagues who like to stop at the local coffee store, that tends to slow down the launch by 30 mins while they get all their drinks and food. When I’m alone, I’d much rather sleep an extra 30 mins or prep for the meeting. In any event, this item can save you that out of the way trip during the busiest time of the day for coffee. Plus, it allows you to get caffeinated before you even leave your hotel room. Now I also own the Wacaco PicoPresso which in my opinion is a superior product because it makes better espresso (better pressure @ 18-20 PSI), makes a legit 2 shots, and is easier to disassemble due to the metal texturing on the bottom assembly and the rubberized coating and flattened curve sides of the PicoPresso. However, the PicoPresso is also 2x the price of the MiniPresso and weighs more and is taller. So if you are on the fence, you might start here. If weight is an issue, or you want better superior espresso, go with the PicoPresso. That isn’t to say the Mini doesn’t make a good espresso but the basket is a little smaller than the PicoPresso so it probably won’t get you the full 2 shots you want. You have the option of removing a part to make the Mini a near 2 shot capacity but it still is a little short IMO. In my pictures, you see I can put the entire lower assembly of the MiniPresso fits inside the basket of the PicoPresso. The crema out of the Mini is minimal but it’s there. The PicoPresso is more like your local coffee shop. Not quite professional but 95% there whereas the MiniPresso is more like 99% professional. But like I said, if you are traveling and need to consider weight and space then the Mini has some advantages in addition to a lower cost than the PicoPressoNow, the main issue I have with the MiniPresso is tightening the filter enough where the liquid won’t come out of the side of the Mini near the upper gasket of the lower assembly. You need to keep the threads and the orange gasket totally and 100% free of grounds or the espresso won’t come out of the bottom as it is supposed to and instead will come past the seals on the side of the Mini where the lower assembly & basket screws into the pressure unit. Tightening and cleaning prevents this but my experience is that I over tighten the basket and when I’m ready to disassemble and clean, I can’t unscrew the bottom half. I’m planning to put a little rubber mason jar lid removal strip in the bag next time or maybe a few rubber bands because I just can’t get a good enough grip on it to unscrew the bottom half. This issue reinforces the need to clean it well after use. Here are some statistical differences between the MiniPresso and the PicoPressoMini:Weight: 10.9 ozHeight: 5 inchesDiameter: 2.75 inchesCost: $60Pico:Weight: 19.5 ozHeight: 4.24 inchesDiameter: 3.1 inchesCost $130

I had been on a hunt for a specific way to make my occasional coffee. My requirements: fresh ground from beans, no use of a machine (like a keureg), easiest cleanup, quickest/easiest way to make a decent brew. There are a few methods I have tried, and each one had their compromises. I have tried bag brewing, french presses, and the Aeropress. Besides the Aeropress, the other methods are left with sediment and for sure has diterpenes (substance in unfiltered coffee that raises bad cholesterol levels) because of the lack of a paper filter. The Aeropress is great because it is pretty easy to use and uses a filter, but cleanup is a bit messy and water-wasteful.With the Minipresso GR2, it is my number one way to make coffee/espresso now.First of all, the construction is really rugged and nice. It has a great heft and everything is compact. In fact, I can pre-load some grounds and store all the components in the upper hot water reservoir. This way I can immediately make a brew if I happen to be traveling or camping.I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a process, but with some practice and use. The process is very easy for a portable method. It comes with some tools that all fit in the press itself when stored. Using the pump to press out the coffee is fairly easy but I can see it being cumbersome for those used to having a machine. Factoring that in that I use a manual grinder and have instant hot water, I can make my serving of espresso in less than 5 minutes.Cleanup is pretty easy. The puck is easily removed and tossed. After that, there are just 3 parts that you can just rinse and let dry. I would suggest maybe a more involved cleaning after several uses or if you are going to store it away for some time. You can remove the seals and do a simple disassembly and clean out the deeper parts. Otherwise just rinsing and allowing to dry seems to suffice for the most part. In all, using the Minispresso uses less water to brew AND clean up over the Aeropress. As for the filtering, there is zero sediment even without a paper filter. However, without a paper filter, diterpenes is still a health concern for me. No filters are made for this size but if you can find a 35 to 38 mm paper filter, you can easily use it with this Minipresso. I just do a radial fold of a coffee filter and snip out an octagon-ish circle to fit below the grounds. The press works just fine with a a filter in it too, just no size filter is commercially made for it.Although I feel like I have a pretty niche use for my coffee (only an occasional coffee drinker, preferring freshly grounded beans, portability, and health conscientiousness). This tiny manual espresso maker really fits my preferences. If you just want to be able to make a strong brew while camping or you are just somewhere where there’s not coffee shop around, this is a very neat and capable press.

This has made it’s way into my travel coffee kit REPLACING my Aeropress!I love this little device. It comes with clear instructions, which you will need. After you use it a handful of times you’ll get the hang of it and make some good coffee, but it takes a little to get used to the steps.Clean up isn’t hard at all, which is a bonus! Here’s to americanos on the go!

This thing had me sorta stumped on first impressions. Simple but I guess that’s the beauty of it being that as few parts that can go wrong and pretty much just needing hot water in a thermos and some pre ground fine coffee for a quick fresh cup that smells great! While this isn’t going to replace any home kit but for camping or backpacking (or just helping family move when the new place doesn’t have power on yet) is just where this thing really shines while being just that extra bit kinda fun to show off!

I’ve always wanted a portable hand powered espresso machine and the WACACO’s GR2 machine is a little engine that could! Its compact size contains everything you need except for the coffee grind and hot water. Toss it all in the tote bag and into your backpack or suitcase and voila! You have a very portable and personal espresso machine.Whether in the woods or at hotels, I’ll be toting this thing along. At times, at hotels, I am just perplexed with the coffee machine and the quality. I rather use their grind or preferably one that I’ll just bring along in a ziplock bag, boil some water, and make my own quality brew (although I may still have to use the hotel machine to boil water or get some hot water elsewhere). On a roadtrip, I can also just boil some water to have in a canteen and rather than have a large coffee mug that will be hours old, just pull over at a rest stop and boil a fresh perk me up espresso. Add some more hot water and cocoa and make a mocha. As per camping (backpacking or car camping), it’s academic. Bring it along and enjoy!Everything is well thought out and as a coffee enthusiast, this is possibly the most exciting thing I got this year. Small thing, but big improvement for my get up and go lifestyle. Man, I feel all over the wall right now, perhaps due to the multiple…3 or 5 shots of espresso shots I had testing this thing out and my hands are shakkkkkkinnnng allll over the keeeeeyboard so I’m going to sttttttop…already. Just get it…you won’t regret it unless you’re into stacking coins on the edge for fun!

It’s really compact and small, which is great. super easy to use. However, it occasionally leaks a few drops of water. Mine only works with the 12g basket, not the 8g, and at one point, the drip mechanism at the bottom came loose, so I had to reattach it.Honestly, I’d recommend saving up a bit more for something more durable, but the concept itself is great!

I bought this thinking it would be comparable to the picopresso. Man was I wrong. Just buy a picopresso. It is night and day. I would say this is closer to concentrated coffee instead of real espresso. It’s also very plasticy. It feels flimsy compared to the picopresso.

I have tried to use this several times. Though, every time I pump the thing, water and espresso grinds seep out where the bottom piece screws into the main unit. There are no directions. There is a QR code that links to a video that doesn’t help me. Perhaps a trouble shooting video or section on the website would help. I seem to have more pieces than are in the video. Honestly, I don’t have time to deal with a learning curve to make a 2oz beverage. I love espresso, but this thing is just frustrating. At this point I am rather disappointed as I see many other reviews that have succesfully used this. I wish there was a step by step that doesn’t place slick video flashiness over a simple how to. I will try a few more times and update my review. Overall the unit seems quite clever, compact, and very well made! I am sure this is user error. If I get this to function correctly, I will post the step by step video myself.

This is a great product. It feels sturdy, looks good and makes a great espresso. It took a couple cups to get it figured out but now I use it a couple times a week. It even gives you a decent Creama. It is a little bit of a task to clean, but I have found that the best way to clean it is to dispose of your used beans, put the unit back together, and run two more shots of hot water through the unit. After that remove all pieces and give them a wipe with mild detergent in the sink, and then set on a mat or towel to dry.Honestly I have only had the Minipresso since December and if it broke tomorrow I think I would give it a second go, but I would say that’s not going to happen.

I’ve purchased just about every Wacaco espresso machines and really pleased with this one too.Minipresso (original)NanopressoPicopressoPipamoka (why not..)Minipresso GR2 (just now..)The GR2 use some of the design of the Picopresso with it’s lid and stacking accessories.I found that maintaining a steady extraction without interuption is harder than with the Nanopresso.I needed one to “stay” in the truck as an “emergency” coffee kit and it seems perfect for that. Less expensive than the Nanopresso and better than the Minipresso GR.I paired it with a cheap 32cad grinder since the basked is pressurized, grinding is less of a concern..

Great little travel buddy. If you’ve got ground coffee and hot water then your a few pumps away from being well caffeinated. Great for camping and easy to clean.

BLUF: This mini espresso maker is ideal for those who want a convenient, power-free way to make espresso. Just remember that you’ll need access to hot water, and the result is a single shot of espresso. This portable mini espresso maker is perfect for eco-friendly coffee lovers who need their espresso fix while camping or without access to power. It can take either 8 grams or 12 grams of ground espresso, producing one shot of espresso each time.Packed with FeaturesDespite its small size, it comes with everything you need except coffee and water. It includes a cap that acts as a cup, a cleaning brush, a coffee spoon, an adjustable coffee basket (with two capacities: 8g or 12g), video instructions via QR code, an actual manual, and a pouch. It’s a great eco-friendly and compact espresso maker. Just remember you need access to hot water and to pre-grind your espresso beans.

It actually makes a very nice espresso, rich with flavor and cream, depending on the coffee you use. I tried Lavazza anf Illy so far. The design it self is well thought, it’s portable and light. It looks durable, and I can’t tell how durable since I have Just bought it.Overall, Money well spent.I totally recommend it.

I was shocked when I opened the box to find that this product had clearly been used. It was wet inside with coffee grounds all over it—absolutely disgusting. This is completely unacceptable. I will be returning it immediately.

Great tasting espresso! I just wish it made a bigger cup.

Great little thing, it’s a shame it produces only one small espresso and not larger enough for cappuccino.

I love it. First try got me a strong espresso with crema. Used 12 grams of dark roast, 18 clicks on my Kingrinder P1. 1:2 ratio.Added a picture of my probably 5th espresso (i added Torani Dark Choc sause) using GR2. Put it inside a small plastic bowl containing microwaved hot water as an attempt to keep the cup hot.

Love it so much that it allows me to make a crema rich espresso quick. And most importantly, compared to the Moka pot I was using, it doesn’t use gas and keep it consistent every time as long as I use the same grind size regardless of the minimal coffee tamping difference.

My espressos are getting way better than many others that I made on automatic machines. If you use fresh roasted beans and a good grinder, you won’t get it wrong. Took me a while to hit the right spot, but once I got it, I was amazed with the result. Highly recomended!
