This Digital Microscope is a great introductory tool for kids, offering clear visuals with adjustable LED lights and easy portability. It’s USB-compatible for saving images on Mac, making it engaging for young explorers. While the magnification and build quality are suited more for casual learning than serious scientific use, it’s a fun way to encourage curiosity!

I got this for my nephew as her loved a microscope during a library visit. It took us a little bit of time to understand how to use but once we did, it worked so well. This is a really cool gift for any kids. The screen makes it really cool as multiple people can see it at the same time and you also have the ability to take pictures and seen them in a laptop through a SD card. Really cool toy.

The first picture above is of acrylic yarn on a blanket. The second picture is a close up of a pair of shorts. We have looked at hair, bugs, fur, lots of fabrics, etc. This has been fought over between two siblings and survived. It seems sturdy and has held up well outside on adventures. It’s easy to use. My first grader needed some explanation on how to focus it to get a clear view, but other than that was able to use it independently. The battery has lasted for a few days of frequent use and hasn’t needed a charge yet. This is a neat stem toy. I will probably buy another so when we hike as a family, both children have their own instead of bickering over it.

My child loves exploring with this digital microscope! The 1000X zoom and clear IPS screen make it fun and educational. However, younger kids might need some help using it effectively. It’s best suited for older children who can appreciate and understand the details. Overall, a fantastic learning tool!

Very good high magnification but no zoom out. The scope’s 1x to 4x magnification basic the same (but again equal to 100x). So effectively, only one super high magnitude.

Ordered this cheap microscope for kids as a gift for my nerdy son. It has 3 modes: direct viewing in the tiny IPS screen, as a usb camera on windows, and through the microsd card. You adjust focus by twisting the yellow knob at the bottom. The description claim 1000x magnification but I don’t think it’s really that high, but since it’s a cheap toy for kids I’m willing to let that slide. My son loves this little microscope so much he’s been using it to look at tiny things around the house.

I bought this Skybasic microscope as a gift for my godson, but honestly, I love it so much that I’m tempted to keep it and get him something else! The 2-inch HD screen is super clear, and the colors really pop, making it easy for kids to see the tiniest details. The 1000X magnification is perfect for curious little minds, and the 8 adjustable LED lights help make everything super sharp. It’s lightweight and portable, with a cute design and even a lanyard, so kids can take it anywhere to explore the world around them. I love how simple it is to use—just press the power button and adjust the focus. It even lets you take photos or videos, which is awesome for saving cool discoveries!I think it’s the perfect educational toy, and it’s a great way for parents (or godparents!) to spend time with their kids. If you’re looking for a fun and educational gift, this is it!

Christmas last year I bought a portable microscope for my child. But they had a hard time knowing how to properly use it and they didn’t really show any interest in it. Months later they found it and started using it but got frustrated a few times because, again, it was hard to focus. So I decided to buy this and they are obsessed with it and all their friends love it when they come over. Must buy for all kids

I gave the microscope to my young grandson who’s in kindergarten. He loves it. It’s easy for him to use, and he and some of the neighborhood kids are hunting bugs to look at. They really appreciate the strap it comes with to carry it around. My daughter, my grandson’s mother, likes the microscope, too. She borrows it to look at plants and flowers. I believe I hit a home run by giving the microscope to my grandson. Highly recommend.

My husband is a big science guy and my son follows his footsteps in wanting to explore nature, make things etc. I thought I’d try this cute little microscope that he can take outside and look at bugs, leaves, dirt. It fits his little hands very well. It has different levels of zoom too. I would say he’s still a little too young to understand seeing different things under it. For example, we looked at a piece of my hair and it was very cool to look at it so magnified but he didn’t really understand it yet. I think in another year, it’ll be really fun for him and the more I show him how it works. Overall, it’s great for a young child’s first microscope until you’re able to upgrade to a real one.

If my kids didn’t love it so much, I’d give it a 1 star. I’m glad I ordered 3, one for each kid. Out of the three only one cord works to charge them. The other cord, when plugged, say they’re at 100% when they’re not. Once I figured that out, life was good. Otherwise, it appeared that only 1/3 worked. It also took 21 days and a message to support to even get it shipped, over a month after I ordered, they were finally here.

I got this to use in my STEM classroom and my students LOVE it! Even my fiancée was super impressed when we tried it at home before bringing it in. It works great, completely plug and play (so no extra apps needed), and a great value! So far it seems durable. What is so impressive is the magnification. Some of our favorite things to look at so far: the dirt in the Lego logo imprint, macroinvertebrates, and our skin!! I definitely started using a lot more lotion after seeing just how dry and wrinkly my hand was! 🤦♀️😂 Honestly, if you have kids (or adults) who love to investigate- this one is a no-brainer!

I purchased this for my seven year old grandson. He loves it! He has been out in the yard looking at flowers, leaves and bugs. He looked at his own hand and it was filthy. He is now washing his hands! I just ordered a second one for my 5 year old granddaughter for her birthday.

My child was excited at first, but this microscope turned out to be more frustrating than fun. The image quality is poor, even with the LED lights at full brightness, and it’s hard to get anything in focus. The buttons feel cheap, and the menu is confusing—even for me.We also couldn’t get the video function to work properly, and connecting it to the PC was hit or miss. It’s a cool idea, but the execution feels rushed and not very kid-friendly. Definitely not worth the price.

It’s really shocking how powerful this handheld microscope is. I had to buy two since my 4 year old wouldn’t share it with his dad!

Great for kids. It really does have up close pictures. Easy to use. Also being able to put on your computer is great. My grandson used it for his science project for school. Works great. Highly recommend

Great idea, just tried it out on a leaf because it’s a Christmas gift but it seemed to work well. I brought it for my 8 year old son and 6 year old daughter and really think they will enjoy it.
Brent Nichols –
This is so perfect. It’s small enough for kids to handle but powerful enough to be amazing and help them learn! All the functions are easy to use and comes with instruction booklet. My boys can’t stop looking at things!

Bought this for my cousin for her children. They are actually being homeschooled this year. They love this so far, it is definitely making science classes more fun for them and they are enjoining classes more and more. They are even including their little sister in things discovering what things look like up close.
Deep Thoughts –

Got the microscope for my 6 Years old. It works great and he loves it. It gives a clear and detailed views, perfect for budding scientists.Overall, it’s a fantastic educational gadget..
John B. Ferrante –
Very good high magnification but no zoom out. The scope’s 1x to 4x magnification basic the same (but again equal to 100x). So effectively, only one super high magnitude.
Shengpu Liu –
High quality microscope for the price. My kid loves it. We used it on skin and a dead bee. Both got crystal clean pics. It also helps the kids to learn science.

My boy love to bring it outside with him and find various things he can try to look at.excellent fun learning experience.

We use this kindergarten class for science projects. It has a good light clarity and magnification.

This is one of the most liked gifts that I ordered. My friend’s son loved it. This is easy to use with a single turn on button and kids can use this without adult supervision. The focus can easily be set using the rotation and the views are perfectly magnified. The instruction manual is clear and this microscope only needs battery to start exploring.Overall a great purchase.

This microscope is great for homeschoolers. I like that you can screen share with the a laptop or tv. Easy to set up and use. Easy for kids to use. Opens up a whole new world of science.

This is a wonderful gift for a child. Encourages learning and curiosity. Bright color and simple design. this is easy to use while being mobile. Magnification is great for its purpose with nice clarity. Kids loved it!!!

My kid loves this one, it requires a steady hand, training her patience, and she likes to hold it over th grass and rocks, spending time looking at the nature through the microscope, I would recommend for kids around 3-8yo. It’s also lightweight too , travel friendly

The whole family is looking at everything! Fabrics and hair are the coolest! It’s amazing how close it focuses in! Fun for ages 4-99!

My 5 years old kid loves it, i feel like she is into bio science more everyday. Loves to take pieces of whatever she finds and look at it. She takes it wherever we go these days, especially to camping recently. Sd card feature to take images/videos and storing is great so she could go back and look at them. Comes with eye protection screen and high resolution.
NiceShineas –
Christmas last year I bought a portable microscope for my child. But they had a hard time knowing how to properly use it and they didn’t really show any interest in it. Months later they found it and started using it but got frustrated a few times because, again, it was hard to focus. So I decided to buy this and they are obsessed with it and all their friends love it when they come over. Must buy for all kids

Great exploring microscope for kids! Easy to use!
Mack Attakk –
The clarity of this microscope is amazing. I was surprised at how easy it was to use. The size of the screen helps to identify what’s being looked at and the brightness of the screen is outstanding. I would definitely recommend this someone no matter the age.
mimi mckinzie –
This kid’s microscope is more than I expected for the price! It is made of durable plastic and the resolution on it is crystal clear, not to mention the 1000x magnification. I bought this for my five year old granddaughter who loves bugs, but her parents enjoy using it to examine things as well! The quality is better than a “toy” and the memory card and USB options really elevate the ability to share the science!
DJ –
Got this for a four year old, and he loves it. I had to test it out, and I kinda want one for myself! Very simple to use, great magnification and photo quality, good battery life and easy to charge…VERY pleased with this purchase, and so is the kiddo. (The photos in my review are of a leaf and a coffee bean!)

This is awesome! My daughter was gifted this for Christmas. My only question is – how do you delete the pictures that were taken? Having a hard time getting it figured out. Thanks!
Regena Rees –
This was my grandson’s Christmas present. He liked it. I was disappointed in the quality of the microscope. It seemed to be cheap plastic and the view wasn’t very clear. This is definitely a small child’s toy. He is 10 and really needed a better functioning microscope.

The box isn’t in English- the item and the packaging…the whole thing looks like a knock off but it was too late to return it. If it was going to be a knock off the price should’ve been much lower. Don’t buy

The Microscope for Kids by SKYBASIC has been a fantastic addition to our home, especially for my daughter, who has a keen interest in bugs. She was thrilled to receive it as a birthday gift. The microscope is user-friendly and designed perfectly for young explorers, allowing her to dive into the fascinating world of insects with ease. It’s a great educational tool that has sparked her curiosity even more. The images are clear, and the device is sturdy, making it ideal for kids. Overall, it has provided countless hours of educational fun and discovery.
Jim Sligar –
The box did not include instructions. There is a website for instructions…it does not work! Now I have two upset children because we cannot use the toy! Terrible quality.
Erin Bolt –
I bought theee for my nephews 5 and 7 years old and they are really cool. Can see the subject well on the screen. Easy to use. They love them.

Nephew loved his gift. Will purchase a few more for my nieces too. Brigth colors and great quality.

Shaun Gilmer –
I got this digital microscope for my little cousin, and it’s been a hit! The screen is super clear and colorful, making it easy for them to explore everything from leaves to tiny bugs. The magnification is amazing—you can see so much detail, and the LED lights really help bring things into focus. It’s lightweight and portable, so they can take it outside and use it anywhere, which they love. The fact that it’s easy to hold and kid-friendly makes it even better. They’ve already taken a ton of photos and videos with it, and they’re having so much fun saving their discoveries to show everyone. It’s also cool that you can connect it to a computer for an even bigger view. Honestly, this is the perfect mix of fun and learning, and it’s been great watching them get excited about science. Highly recommend this for any curious kid in your life!

I got this digital microscope for my child, and it has been a hit! The 2-inch HD IPS screen is bright and colorful, making it easy for them to observe tiny details up close. This was a hit for my son! It works very well and the screen is bigger than I thought. I didnt realize you could take pictures with it too so that was a nice surprise. This is labeled for children 3 and older. The second sentence in the material with it says, “This is a complex product” which doesn’t sound kid friendly. With a (not included) memory card and a computer it might make some great images but was beyond me….
