The retainer system that holds the reel in place was defective, the reel would not fasten down properly. The seller would not pay return shipping on the item. The seller and NiceShine both assured me that I would be reimbursed for the shipping costs ($23.39). The shipping costs were not reimbursed. I will not trust neither the seller nor NiceShine on this assurance again.

Very poor quality, the guide ring came off before it was used, not glued at all. The iron used is also very poor, the paint is very peeling, and the screw of the fishing reel has burst, yes I just owned it for less than 2 hours, and this happened. Not worth the price.

Horrible! Took out for the first time while on holidays and it broke. All the rings popped off and the line got all tangled and my son needed up losing his brand. We lure he bought from bass pro.

I like pen rods. I and my grandchildren have 5 of them. They work well down the sea wall or in my kayak. These are robust, metal construction and quality is good.

The eyelids are wrong for this reel so you can’t really cast. But all the features work and it is exceptionally portable.

My son wanted this so badly so I got it for his birthday. It’s not really the size of a pen it’s more like the size of a wand. It should come with a carting bag to keep the parts together because the spool is separate until you attach it to use it. In no time I am sure my son will be miss placing a part. I can see the appeal it will fit into a back pack very easily.

as soon as it arrived i checked it over the top part of the rod of the ring fell off instantly feels very bad in my hand as well very cheaply made . it falls down very easily as well i need to buy a new rod now so it definitely is a waste of money maybe good for very young children so they can pretend to be fishing .

Ok so I catch a lot of little fish with this silly thing and I love the looks I get using it I put some 2lb line on it cause the line on it is terrible! But this little dude is funNOW what’s funny is I’ve been using it a while now and what’s starting to fail on it isn’t what you’d think…. The pole is starting to degrade rapidly and is not functioning very good and bending won’t stay extended yada yada but the reel is surprisingly strong for what it is mines been lasting a while with no problems I plan on trying to reuse it on….. I’m not sure yet but this fishing rod has given us many laughs and I’ve caught many fish on the thingI would suggest getting the longest version tho this is MUCH smaller than you think or at least what I thought

My son threw this in his backpack, because it’s so small, when he was going on a trip for a week, there was a stream near where they were staying so he was able to use it. Caught three fish on it and was excited it worked for that. The first one we had didn’t collapse after we took it out of the package, but they replaced it easily, so we were thankful for that customer service.

After reading a few good reviews for this rod I figured I’d give it a chance. For $20 you can get some pretty high quality fishing rods but this rod compared to other rods I’ve bought didn’t even come close. This rod was terrible and broke immediately out of the packaging. I don’t recommend purchasing this product and I believe there are better products to spend your money on.

Purchased for bait fishing. Use found item difficult to set up, to hold it’s locked position components and to break down for storage. The reel does function, it’s nice looking, and came with light line. It makes for a good wall hanger.

This Fishing Rod is a great product for mainly fishing at a creek or a lake. To make this rod actually work good, make sure you buy a little set of tiny hooks and split shots by eagle claw because it casts really good with those. And make sure you don’t cast to far because there is not much line on it. I bought this for my son who loves fishing, and he goes down to the creek with this rod and he catches lots of fish with his friends. Make sure you tighten the line because if you don’t it will be an absolute mess.
