Just received the coffee machine today and already ran four cups thru the unit. I couldn’t be any more pleased with the product, it worked like it should and made hot coffee all four times. If you are looking for the same speed and quantity as a Mr. Coffee then this product is wrong for who. But if want single cup of hot coffee made anywhere this unit is for you. Yes it does eat up battery’s but it takes a lot of power to make hot water and this is hot. Plus it is a get conversation piece, I mean how many people own a makita coffee maker. Plus on NiceShine for sale $104.95 with a $25discount, final $74.95+free shipping great deal.Thank you Makita and NiceShine.

debating between 3 or four stars i chose 3, heres why.pros:takes more than one battery size (especially good if you already have the makita battery ecosystem)great way to make coffee without fire or corded electricityfun noveltycompact and lightweighteasy to cleanworks with loose grounds or tea/coffee bags(with nothing in the grounds chamber just makes hot water)cons:only makes one small cup at a time(240 ml)while it feels stable if knocked over will spill the the water from the reservoirdoesn’t fit most standard sized coffee cups some other smaller ones fit(not in my picture the cup it comes with and clear one fit the black cup does not)the plastic is much cheaper than the kind their tools are made out ofoverall:i like it,and im keeping it but im generally a bit disappointed with some of the design choices. i got mine on sale for 75$ and i feel thats an ok price while the normal 100$ is definitely too much unless your very frequently somewhere that doesnt have another method of making coffee. i think a hot plate/open fire and percolator or regular coffee pot with extension cord would be superior, but if you work far from a power source or don’t have access to fire and need/want coffee this will get the job done. if the design ever gets updated i would like to see compatibility with standard mugs, better quality plastic, and a higher capacity reservoir to brew more than an individual cup at a time.

This little thing is nifty! lol got it in case of power outages .. but ended up actually using on a job site too. It really works well. Super hot coffee.. 2 cups instant in about regular coffee brew time.Everyone who sees it comments on it in a positive way and asks me where I got it. hahah and then they ask for a cup of coffee ! Not joking that has happened several times already. Makita scored with this little coffee workhorse.

bought this for camping because I have several makita tools anyway and this runs off batteries. I can’t say enough positive things about it! it works really well and is extremely easy to use and clean. I can’t recommend it enough if you already own makita tools. as for the few comments about it’s casing feeling cheap it’s a coffee maker not a drill. it feels like the one in my kitchen. can’t wait for further adventures in the wilderness with this!

Just drank my first cup of coffee from this maker. Used one approx 65mm diameter coffee pad listed on NiceShine as “Italian Coffee pads Senseo compatible.” Five min after I pushed the on button I got a very hot and tasty 200 mL (8/10 cup) serving of coffee. Looking forward to traveling with this device along with a couple of Makita 18v 5.0 batteries and car charger.

The thing is hilarious, like completely drains a big battery for a single cup of coffee. Both the machine and battery get hot as hell lol. Seems easy enough to clean. I can’t imagine the batteries lasting *long* before needing replacement, getting discharged so quickly and high temperatures. Flavor? Seems OK to me.

For anyone who is a tool enthusiast or has makita tools or looking for a way to make a hot fresh cup of coffee anywhere this is the unit for you! Easy to use, easy to clean and for a portable unit it’s pretty quick. It takes about as long a Keurig does to brew. With a 5.0 battery I’d say you’ll be able to run it 4-5 times before it’s completely dead since 1 cup took it down 1 bar but that’s not a problem for me at all

This is a great product for a shop. Makes Great coffee. The only thing is it will kill a fully charged 5 hour battery in making 1 cup of coffee. So if you are looking to make more than one cup, have some extra batteries ready.

Works awesome! Got the pods on amazon, way cheaper than k-cups and less plastic waste. Already paid for itself with me not going to Starbucks for a 2nd cup of coffee every morning. Only downside is that it produces ~1.7 cups on a fresh, genuine 5ah battery. Would buy again, well made and overall great value!

It will brew a cup of coffee in a pinch, but it’s got issues.1. With a brand new Makita brand battery fully.charged I brews one cup of coffee. Not two as stated.2. It does not draw down all of the water. So you have to use more water assuming about 1-2 ounces will go unused.3. Its not particularly hot. I typically use a hit tap (well below boiling as it should be for coffee) but this is lower temperature than a hot tap or Keurig. But it is decent. Just plan on drinking your coffee quickly.4. Part of the reason it isn’t that hot is that it is slow. This is actually stated in the product info. Instead of a quick 60s brew like Keurig it’s about 4 minutes. So some of the coffee has already been cooling in the cup for 4 minutes when you pick it up.It does come with a basket plus filter for coffee or could be used for loose tea leaves. It also includes a second basket without fine filter that would work for paper coffee pods or tea bags. On the inside top cover is a small scoup you can use to scoup coffee grinds. Finally it does include the Makita stainless mug as shown.I like the mug but it does not include a spill proof cover. That feels like a huge miss for job site coffee. It’s a decent first gen product. I’m hopeful they can improve on it with higher voltage and amp-hour batteries in the future. As an aside the Makita 18v charger is horrible. I have a separately purchase set with two batteries and charger. The lights indicate the no charge red then remove battery and reinsert and it’s solid green. It’s also about 4 times larger and heavier than DeWalt, Bosch, Skill, Craftsman, and HPT chargers all of which I have and use regularly. If Makita teams is reading this:- include a case. Semi soft would be good- spill proof cup lid- get it to drain all of the water from reservoir- designs new 18v charger. THIS IS THE DEAL BREAKER.Based on the horrible batteries and charger I’d recommendfolks not buy this. There are car/truck portable DC/AC inverters and canister water heater solutions that will make better coffee.

Ok so…this product…do you need it? Absolutely not. Is it cool to have though. Absolutely. What anyone, who is considering buying this, needs to realize is this is more of a commodity. The reasons I’ve encountered being that it takes up nearly 2AH in 5 minutes. The cup that comes with this is also rather small, the maximum amount of volume being 240 ml. The most practical reason I’ve come up with is making coffee while I’m out and about instead of having to buy some at a convenience store. However, it take you over a year to practically pay this off, that’s including expenses for coffee, water, batteries, and energy for those batteries. And that’s every single day, for over a year. This product is for disposable income.

I was excited to get this for my husband for Christmas and he was excited to receive it however upon opening the item, we discovered how TINY it is. I like coffee.. if I’m using a Keurig I always select the 10-12oz sizes.. This thing is like a mini-coffee maker and the cup that fits it is *maybe* an 8oz. Wouldn’t care except you can’t go bigger. It’s the only size that fits because that’s the most water it will hold. I don’t know, being a manly tool brand I expected it to be bigger. But still not a bad product overall.

bought this for my father who was a long term carpenter he had several 18v makita battery’s, figured it wouldn’t matter much because I thought they would be compatible, but no I still cant stand the fact that these companies have several different varients of the same battery in diffrent voltages and drm its a shame because were it not for this fact I would have a whole array of tools that would be powered by the same source and same batteries.

This coffee maker is extremely practical when boondocking. Coffee is good and hot and without the need to boil water or an electrical connection. Brew time is quiet and takes about 8 minutes. I purchased paper k-cup filters because the mesh filter lets through too many sediments. It’s a little cumbersome to open and clean, so just 4 stars for easy to clean, but the practicality of this coffee maker makes it a solid 5 star purchase. What’s not to love?

Great little Coffee Maker, can only recommend if your already invested in the Makita Eco-System as it is quite battery hungry to brew a cup of Coffee. Have put it though it’s paces. Will brew about 2 1/2eight ounce cups on a 6 Amp hour Makita Battery and about 4 1/2 cups off of one 9 Amp hour battery.

It’s a cute idea, but not designed for someone at a jobsite or someone camping, truly. The cup is very small. Tea cup small. Co-worker even said I should stick out my pinky while drinking from it. He exaggerates a little, but it is a small cup if it’s designed to be used out on a jobsite. Nothing in the description said my 18V Makita BL1815 batteries would not work, but they did not. Luckily I had BL1820B which did work, but each battery was only able to brew one cup. So for 30-45 minutes of charge time, plus 10 minutes of brewing I get two small cups of coffee. Again, not exactly jobsite friendly. Another issue I’ve found is that although it does come with two “filter” holder/adapters, if you want to use the pads/pods they are extremely difficult to find. At least where I live down south. I did order some off of NiceShine, but used just regular coffee since they have not arrived. Although this coffee maker is the right idea, the build, and performance of it are just not practical in any real world setting for me. The best way I could describe this is: “cute” or a novelty. It is not built for someone who is blue collar.

Thought this MIGHT be good to take on vacation, for my mother to feel at home. Not a big coffee fan, so occasional use would he ok. Not practical at all. 45 minutes to charge a 5mah battery just to mostly heat 1 or maybe 2 cups of coffee. Worse part is at first, water is coming out cold, then gradually gets hotter, but not suitably hot, and was very weak. Maybe this is ok for a really desperate coffee drinker. Not good for me.Out of the box I noticed several abrasions on the top surface. I should have paid close attention in case this was a USED item. The box was taped up kinda funny also. I ran water alone first to hopefully clean out any release agents from moulding. Water pretty much started passing through seconds after pressing the ON button. The included cup is NOT insulated, nor does it have a lid. Only a cheesy plastic cover which is probably meant as a splash shield. I like its small compact size, although it feels very toy-like.Have to say is NOT worth the price, and if not return it because it may have been used. Id maybe find something better for less money.

This was a total impulse buy, but it’s one that I don’t regret at all. It brews one full cup of coffee in about 5-6 minutes. Also has a plastic cup for tea bags. Incredibly simple to use and even easier to clean. This thing is great. Power usage wise if you have a 6ah battery it’ll run the machine 3 times before the battery dies. Which is understandable considering the power it uses. 9/10 product.

I purchased this on a gift card for $150 a week later it was $20 less. Brews at approximately 93 centigrade. I had to fiddle around with ratios and grind before achieving the desired outcome. I found the grind needs to be somewhat more course than a pour over; on a Comandante this is about a 35 clicks (from fine to course). Using the pour over grind was too dense and resulted in water overflowing the basket. I used 240ml of water (max) to 15 grams coffee (15:16). It came out well- much better than Starbucks and from the convenience of not having to rush back and forth to work during breaks for mediocre, over priced coffee. I easily can spend $150/month going out for coffee and whatever treat that happens to look like a nice match at the time, so I expect this will be a great alternative for someone who enjoys specialty coffee with minimal effort, especially while traveling. The only reservation I would have might be not having 5ah batteries handy- fortunately I use Makita for myhome landscaping and power tools. Otherwise, I would be far more hesitant.

It made the perfect cup of coffee. I used a Ridgid 18v 4ah battery with a Makita adapter (because i don’t have any 18v Makita batteries). That perfect cup of coffee used half that battery at 4 minutes. Is it something you will set on your kitchen counter and use every day….no, but you could. Will it make a cup of coffee when you don’t have power? Camping? On a job site? Yes. Very satisfied with this cordless Makita coffee maker.***Swapped to a Ridgid 18v 8ah battery and got 4 cups from one charge.

Perfect for one or two people, saves time going to a store for a coffee. DOESNT work with K-Cups but the pods it uses are easy to purchased on NiceShine and delivered the next day in most cases. I get 2 cups per battery before I need a charge. We have many Makita tools with over a dozen batteries floating around the truck. If you don’t have makita batteries and charger already then this machine is probably not worth the money. Generic makita batteries are garbage and don’t last very long. I’ve tried several of them and write the purchase date on them and never get more then a few months of daily use before they stop taking a charge.

Great little life saver for camping. I had others and this is the best. You can use pods or grounds. Even comes with a little scooper attached to the lit. That said there are problems.1. Definitely too expensive for what this is.2. Even after thorough initial wash and 3 water brews, can still taste a bit of plastic /metal taste in the hot water. Coffee is great and comes out very hot3. People saying they get 5 brews out of a 5ah battery are likely lying. It’s 3 brews max on a makita 5ah.4. This should have wall plug as well as the battery, but I get it.Overall it’s great though and I highly recommend it as a travel coffee maker.

I am using this out in the woods-it makes a very hot cup of coffee in about 5 minutes. I have made over 3500 cups of coffee with it and it’s still going strong. It works well with a 5-6 amp DeWalt battery using an adapter that allows me to use 1 of my many Dewalt batteries. Adapter is available-see: https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Adapter-Milwakee-Lithium-conversion/dp/B07GXKYTL8/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3PXTQNC3CERI2&keywords=dewalt+to+makita+battery+adapter&qid=1573011638&s=hi&sprefix=dewalt+to+tools227&sr=1-4During a recent power outage, this worked great-didn’t have to start the generator to make hot coffee-liked this so much, I ordered another one.Original Douwe Egberts Senseo pods work very well with this unit, such as : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VB9NWKQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1Baronet pods also work well with this-makes a good strong cup of coffee. I like their Chocolate Raspberry Mocha Java, and Butter Pecan pods. SEE https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Baronet+Coffee+pods&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

Happy happy joy joy…Fresh coffee on my camping and fishing trips….Just make sure u have a few 5 or 6ah batteries…

Gave this to my son for a gift

I bought this for my Dad since he’s out patrolling as a security guard at night sometimes. He’s loved it and finds any excuse to take it with him for fresh cups of coffee

Great product.

Seth –
Love this thing
Dani –
Gave to my dad for Father’s Day however he did say it didn’t come with a battery
Sstag –
This was bought as a joke on the job site but has now become a necessity. Works great and is easy to clean
mark r –
bought this for camping because I have several makita tools anyway and this runs off batteries.
Jeff –
Love this thing, use it in the most remote places. Very hot, battery is good for three cups. Cup is small and I wish it worked with k cups but other then that well worth the high price.

So far so good…. I just tried it ones… It is expensive but there are certain luxuries you must budget for…. This is one of those. So just remember not to put too much coffee grinde in the machine. Enough for one cup always.

My husband loves his makita. He uses it at his job sites. He is a mason and he is working in the cold weather and he likes the fact that there is always hot coffee right there
Rex Morgan –
Just drank my first cup of coffee from this maker. Used one approx 65mm diameter coffee pad listed on NiceShine as “Italian Coffee pads Senseo compatible.” Five min after I pushed the on button I got a very hot and tasty 200 mL (8/10 cup) serving of coffee. Looking forward to traveling with this device along with a couple of Makita 18v 5.0 batteries and car charger.

Hot coffee any where you go!
Sean Gray –
The thing is hilarious, like completely drains a big battery for a single cup of coffee. Both the machine and battery get hot as hell lol. Seems easy enough to clean. I can’t imagine the batteries lasting *long* before needing replacement, getting discharged so quickly and high temperatures. Flavor? Seems OK to me.
jimbob350 –
For anyone who is a tool enthusiast or has makita tools or looking for a way to make a hot fresh cup of coffee anywhere this is the unit for you! Easy to use, easy to clean and for a portable unit it’s pretty quick. It takes about as long a Keurig does to brew. With a 5.0 battery I’d say you’ll be able to run it 4-5 times before it’s completely dead since 1 cup took it down 1 bar but that’s not a problem for me at all
Wes –
This is a great product for a shop. Makes Great coffee. The only thing is it will kill a fully charged 5 hour battery in making 1 cup of coffee. So if you are looking to make more than one cup, have some extra batteries ready.
danielle como –
Works awesome! Got the pods on amazon, way cheaper than k-cups and less plastic waste. Already paid for itself with me not going to Starbucks for a 2nd cup of coffee every morning. Only downside is that it produces ~1.7 cups on a fresh, genuine 5ah battery. Would buy again, well made and overall great value!
Mel Hill –
Love this idea so I bought it for my husband. It arrived and he was so happy but had not used it yet. I ask him why and he said that it needs an additional $100 battery!!!! What??? That’s insane and should be printed in bold type or sold together. Disappointed 😞
Rick –
Burned up a new $70 battery. Did not make a full cup with the smaller 18v battery.
Mike S. –
It make a great cup of hot coffee.
Victor Blake –
There are car/truck portable DC/AC inverters and canister water heater solutions that will make better coffee.
andres –
It makes really good coffee BUT it takes way too much battery to make 1 cup. It only makes 1 cup at a time and it takes one full 5.0 battery to make 3 cups.
Robert Stanfield –
got it for traveling we’ll see!
Gabriel Cabrera –

This little machine is awesome, only one cup at a time, but really hot strong coffee, game changer on my jobsite on any morning for sure👍
edward haley –
Makes coffee, tea, hot chocolate, also heat water for cup of noodles . One cup depletes a 2.0, a 4.0 gets two cups.
Foxrock321 –
Here in the mountains, we have power outages occasionally..my wife goes berserk if she can’t make coffe..The power company usually has the power back on that day..My wife would have to drive to the next town where there’s power and buy a couple of cups of coffee..We’ll, no more now I just grab one of my Makita 18V batteries from the tool box and she can make fresh hot coffee… problem solved,..great for camping too..
George m. –
I love it ♥️🧡❤️
MF –
Battery powered coffee maker, it does what it says.It does use up a lot of battery power so keep that in mind.
Morgan –
I was excited to get this for my husband for Christmas and he was excited to receive it however upon opening the item, we discovered how TINY it is. I like coffee.. if I’m using a Keurig I always select the 10-12oz sizes.. This thing is like a mini-coffee maker and the cup that fits it is *maybe* an 8oz. Wouldn’t care except you can’t go bigger. It’s the only size that fits because that’s the most water it will hold. I don’t know, being a manly tool brand I expected it to be bigger. But still not a bad product overall.
Samuel –
I’m a coffee addict, and I’m happily surprised that this things works great. If you have Makita batteries, then get this puppy.

You have to have several batteries. One battery makes on cup of coffee. The batteries are expensive and so was coffee maker. Not worth it!
Abigail Smith –
Don’t know how this American developed such a tea time habit, but it’s great to pull this out and brew a cup in the afternoon without having to leave a job site. Now I just need the microwave and easy bake oven
Jamie Hersey –
It’s easy to clean, portable, we bring in all our camping trips
Beatrice –
Had to return, the battery is expensive & is ordered seperately. Was not aware & ordered incorrect battery. Read other reviews before ordering this product.
disjointed –
bought this for my father who was a long term carpenter he had several 18v makita battery’s, figured it wouldn’t matter much because I thought they would be compatible, but no I still cant stand the fact that these companies have several different varients of the same battery in diffrent voltages and drm its a shame because were it not for this fact I would have a whole array of tools that would be powered by the same source and same batteries.
J –
This coffee maker is extremely practical when boondocking. Coffee is good and hot and without the need to boil water or an electrical connection. Brew time is quiet and takes about 8 minutes. I purchased paper k-cup filters because the mesh filter lets through too many sediments. It’s a little cumbersome to open and clean, so just 4 stars for easy to clean, but the practicality of this coffee maker makes it a solid 5 star purchase. What’s not to love?
Robert E. Silver –
Great little Coffee Maker, can only recommend if your already invested in the Makita Eco-System as it is quite battery hungry to brew a cup of Coffee. Have put it though it’s paces. Will brew about 2 1/2eight ounce cups on a 6 Amp hour Makita Battery and about 4 1/2 cups off of one 9 Amp hour battery.
ed saloga –
Works good and like the size but You can only make 2 cups of coffee no matter the size of battery thats used . Also don’t like that it’s not K-cup compatible.
Russ –
This little coffee maker surprised me with the flavor of the coffee, ability to make a cup of coffee wherever you want to and the cleanup was simple
Placeholder –
Doesn’t leak terribly, the cup isn’t insulated and it’s very difficult to find a cup that fits. Haven’t gotten 2 cups of coffee out of 5aph battery.
HD –

Great for camping

So it’s perfect for on the job coffee. Here’s the issue, full battery is about 1 cup of coffee and the coffee pods are pricey.

Brewed 3 cups with 5ah Dewalt battery . Need to buy the adapter tho but it’s only $15 . Works perfect !This is gonna be nice when I go fishing or camping .
Maurizio –
Mike –
This thing is cool! 5 ma battery will do the job. Will use 1/4 of the charge. It heats up a bit due to the large current draw. But the coffee it hot. It comes with 2 ways to brew. You can use regular coffee or the pads. Has a nice screen filter. Good for the job site! Good job Mikita
Craig Cameron –
I expected this to be able to make coffee but you need to purchase a makita battery & battery charger, which would make this very expensiveDeceiving
Vee –

Traci Harmston –
I bought this for my blue collar husband to take to work. He absolutely loves it on cold days. He can easily make as many cups as he wants to and sip on them all day! It’s compact and light so it can easily fit in the cabinets on his service truck. I would definitely recommend this product!
Stowell –

Such a great product works like a charm! Takes little bit of battery to do so but completely worth it for a hot cup of coffee on-site at 2 pm! Keep it up makita!

Works great coffee is hot only takes few minutes

I love this thing. It requires a lot of power. Coffee tastes great and plenty hot for me. Don’t start with cold water and your battery will last longer.

Best coffee I’ve ever made at home. Easy to use and clean. Uses a lot of battery. 3 cups with a 6.0 Ah 18 volt battery, but that’s plenty for me.Rodney
BigDave –
It made the perfect cup of coffee. I used a Ridgid 18v 4ah battery with a Makita adapter (because i don’t have any 18v Makita batteries). That perfect cup of coffee used half that battery at 4 minutes. Is it something you will set on your kitchen counter and use every day….no, but you could. Will it make a cup of coffee when you don’t have power? Camping? On a job site? Yes. Very satisfied with this cordless Makita coffee maker.***Swapped to a Ridgid 18v 8ah battery and got 4 cups from one charge.
Kindle Customer –
It expensive and so far I get an 8oz cup with one battery. Glad I have two batteries. My do over is to pass and stick with my percolator when camping. Don’t waste your time and money. The only plus the coffee was hot and good.
عبدالعزيز المري –

works great, as usual, fine Makita quality, great for picnics and travel where no AC.
Brian Bennett –
This is small and very Portible. It made very good coffee. I used the single pouch. I bought the larger battery (9 amp) and made a couple cups and it wasn’t down to 50 percent. Works well for me taking out on the boat. Would buy again.
Brad –
I always wonder when a manufacturer makes a product that will not work without a certain part which is NOT included, but you have to buy separately; what is the reason?
Robert –
Was not sure what to expect. It was around half price of a brand new one.It was as described. I’ve used it several times and it works flawless a little small, but that’s also a benefit for packing and travel.👍👍👍👍👍
Wyatt –
We purchased this for our grandfather when hes hunting and he absolutely loves it
j c –
Perfect for one or two people, saves time going to a store for a coffee. DOESNT work with K-Cups but the pods it uses are easy to purchased on NiceShine and delivered the next day in most cases. I get 2 cups per battery before I need a charge. We have many Makita tools with over a dozen batteries floating around the truck. If you don’t have makita batteries and charger already then this machine is probably not worth the money. Generic makita batteries are garbage and don’t last very long. I’ve tried several of them and write the purchase date on them and never get more then a few months of daily use before they stop taking a charge.
Molly –
Emmeti shipped fast and I would highly recommend getting all your tools and accessories there.
cyndi swiatek –
It’s a nice unit overall, however you can only brew 5oz at a time and only 3 times on one battery. I’m more of a 10oz person and drink a lot of coffee so extra batteries and charger are definitely needed for camping trips.

Makita knocked it out of the park with this coffee maker

Awesome but wish it came with a battery

Perfect for what I want. In my sleeping bag on Mt Lemon. 43 degrees and it is 7am. Reach over, hit the button and 4.5 minutes later a PERFECT cup of coffee. It makes 3 cups of coffee on one 6ah battery. Use those coffee disks or use coffee grounds. There is a ladle in the lid and a stainless basket for ground coffee users. Very impressed.
Henri Laaksonen –
Fantastic coffee maker!Great for on the move, road trips, camping. 5+ runs with 5Ah battery!
Zazun –
sweet little gift. It works well but cost too much…Hence the 4 stars review.
ryanATF –
