This tool is heavier duty than I thought it would be and has a very sharp blade edge. it works very well for slicing watermelons and actually should work well with any melon.

I didn’t have much luck using the watermelon cutter with my watermelons. The skins were too thick to cut through, and that could be because the watermelons were good-sized melons. But what did work great were the smaller cantaloupe and honeydew melons. Cutting into those melons was like cutting a piece of cake, one slice at a time. It was quick making it easy to serve to the family with nice even slices. The slices came out quickly making it also easy to remove the seeds before serving.

This melon slicer is extremely well made. It has a beveled edge to make slicing easier. It’s not suitable for melons with diameters larger than twice the length of the blade. If a melon is 12″ in diameter, as it’s sliced, there is a cylindrical section in the middle the the slicer can’t reach. It is good for a cantaloupe or honey dew melon. As for a larger watermelon, simply cut 1/3 at a time and remove the center. After all, the heart of the watermelon is the best part.

This tool is great for smaller melons and makes perfect wedge slices. It is incredibly sharp on the cutting side so it will go through those thick melon rinds with minimal effort once it gets started. Cutting the watermelon was fast with this cutter.

I’ve never used a watermelon slicer before this one. I’ve always used a long blade bread knife with good results. But I have say that this slicer does the job without needing a long blade. The thick wedge of this slicer forces the watermelon open neatly and predictably. I have happily added this tool to my kitchen utensil drawer. 5 stars!

I was skeptical. But yes, this does a better job at cutting melon wedges than an ordinary knife.The cutter is wicked sharp, and you can just rock it through the watermelon from pole to pole. Once the first slice is taken, it’s easy to line up one side to take the next slice. The result is smooth, consistently sized, melon slices.The blades are only a bit more than 4″ long, so this wont work for larger watermelons. It will work great on other kinds of melons, however.I put the cutter through the dishwasher and the grain came up a bit on the handle. Not a dealbreaker.

This tool is great! First, it’s made with quality materials. The metal is thick and sturdy, and sharp (the other side is not sharp). The handle is solid, and ergonomic. This tool slices nicely, and can be used for other things as well. Definitely recommend this one!

This makes quicknwork of cutting up my watermelon. I’m sure it would work on other items, I just haven’t done it yet. Easy to use.

It’s a great idea and would probably work amazing on small/personal watermelons. I tried on half a large melon and it works ok if you’re going for a wedge. I usually cut the red off the rind and put it all in a bowl, so this just made more work for me. I’ll try again this winter when the mini melons are all that’s available. *it is sharp!*

This watermelon cutter was a little difficult to actually cut when the watermelon is still whole, but if you make are slices or circles then this cutter can cut trees or triangles. Easy to wash, and it was fun for the kids to be able to cut the shapes on their own.

I love this. It cuts nice, thin slices and it works on more than just melons. My kid made a cake and I’m horrible at cutting even slices, so I thought I’d try this. After all, a cake is easier than a melon. Totally worked. Perfectly-sized, even slices. So much easier than using a cake knife and estimating. It would be nice if it came in various sizes, but honestly, this is a perfect size for us.
