I’ve been a huge fan of Osprey for a long time. Their products are always well thought out and impeccably made. They offer a lifetime warranty and it isn’t just marketing, their products back it up.This pack is really incredible. Compared to my previous pack this genuinely feels lighter. I love how the waist belt hugs my hips and really completely connects with my body. I can say that the same weight of pack feels a lot lighter with this pack.I love how the pack both feels connected to your body but at the same time allows airflow between your back and the pack. The quick and easy adjustments of the pack are really great for getting things dialed in while you are heading down the trail. I have yet to take a full trip with the pack but in all my testing it feels pretty amazing.I like the larger hip belt pockets that are actually large enough to hold my max iPhone. I also like the accessibility of the water bottle pockets when I’m not using a hydration bladder.Honestly, my only complaint about the pack is the silly bright green rain cover. Why do we need a day glow color? I can understand having something bright with you but in Oregon, it rains a little more and the color of the rain cover shouldn’t be a factor in deciding if I want to use it or not.Overall very happy with the “Osprey Atmos AG Men’s Backpacking Backpack”. It is really a fantastic next-generation pack.

I really like most of the new changes on this upgraded pack. The side access to the main compartment is a welcome addition as are the lashing points on the brain of the pack (helps to lash my sleeping bag, so that I can carry the bear canister inside the pack without sacrificing space). The materials used a recycled, which is good, but hope they last as long as the regular materials. I haven’t had the terrible squeaking so far that the my prior version bag had. This squeaking was pretty common (the bag would let out squeaking sounds with every step – highly annoying when hiking. Time will tell if that squeaking has been addressed by addressing the frame build. My only con is that they have reduced the maximum weight capacity. The prior version in Medium, had a load capacity of 30-50 lbs. This new bag is now 30-40 lbs. This might be enough for those that backpack with little gear, but we like to take lots of food on our 8 day trips to the Yosemite Wilderness and the reduced capacity is giving us pause. Other than that recommend this bag.

Very comfortable and a cool pack. As in cool temperature. Netted panel on back works extremely well for alleviating perspiration between the pack and back. Seems like a durable pack. Fit great right out of the box. Very adjustable. I like the features and how comfortable it is to wear and the ventilation.

Worst pack redesign update ever. All the buckles have been changed out for a lower quality buckle. They removed the flap cover on top. And the top sack is detachable but not by buckles but by using the straps. Once you do take the top sack off, if you want to stuff it down in your pack and no longer use it then you are left with two compression straps that are abandoned. The top of your pack also will have a hole in it once you cinch it down. I called osprey customer service and they told me just to use the rain cover if I took the top sack off.The more expensive Aether pack has all the older and better quality hardware, but amazingly terrible frame on the Aether hurts my back. It even has a top lid and buckles on the top sack. Basically all the good stuff they took off of the Atmos they left on the Aether.

The mesh back is extremely comfortable and keeps your back nice and cool. It also has easy access side pouches so you can grab your water bottle on the go. The hip belt pockets can fit my S21 ultra in one and my 10mm glock 20 can surprisingly fit in the other.

I live near the Rocky Mountains and I wanted a bag that could keep me up the hill for more than one night so I got this thing from Osprey’s website. I just came across this ad on NiceShine and figured I’d pitch in my two cents, though they’re not gonna mark me a verified purchase. See pics for yourself though. I bought it.First off, it carries very well. It’s the perfect size for my six foot height, yet quite a bit underweight; it has plenty of room to spare if I can ever gain weight. As well as the harness size and fit, the bag itself is quite large. If you’ve through hiked before, you know your liters already. I have not and I’m glad it’s a good size for me because it’s pretty darned big. Honestly, if I were planning on more than two nights out there, I’d likely need an even larger bag. That’s probably not the case for wherever you are camping. I have to pack for four seasons sometimes. The sleeping bag divider compartment is actually so large that I can put in it my Sea to Summit 0F goose down 850 fill sleeping bag as well as the Amok Draumr 5.0 lay flat hammock sleeping system, that I now use instead of a tent, with its rain fly. Basically, my bed and home is held completely within the sleeping bag chamber, except for the 0F insulated sleeping mattress, also from Amok. I point this out in case you don’t have the five or six hundred dollar sleeping bag. I want you to know that your huge $50 bag that you’re trying out will probably fit also. Mine does!It has some front stash pockets for small miscellaneous items and two pouches in the top flap, which is removeable if you don’t need to use it. Both water pockets are spacious enough to hold ultralight chairs, no joke. I have had a chair in one side and water bottle in the other and I have had water bottles in both and I have had chairs in both. They all fit great, in any combination. This thing does not come with a rain cover, just know that. I knew it but didn’t care. It never rains here.I suggest you go down to an REI and see if this thing fits you before you buy one. I now own another 38 liter Osprey, that I couldn’t pass up the sale on, but it doesn’t fit me at all; it’s way too small.

The bag performed extremely well through out the entire track. The small/medium size side back facing pockets are great for stuffing easy to get items and are decently deep. I am a fan of built in pockets for easier storage. Quality and construction of this bag are top notch. My complaint to the manufacturer is to please make the top bag/flip bag, that goes over the main body of the bag, to please make it a buckle release/ Mort resilient removable verses feeding material through a tightening system.

So I decided to replace my 20+ year old internal frame pack. I did a bunch of research and read all the reviews. Everything pointed me to the Osprey Atmos AG 65. So. Happy with my purchase. I received it on Friday and hit the trails Saturday morning (Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail) with my son’s Scout Troop. My pack weighed in at 28 lbs. Now keep in mind, I haven’t back packed in 9 months. We hiked 11 miles. At mile 5, the Troop leader asked who had a sweaty back? Not me 🙂 Who’s shoulders were sore? Not me 🙂 Who hips were sore? Not me 🙂 I would ABOSLUTELY recommend this pack to everyone!

I carry about 50 kg of weight and the functions of this bag is amazing, the distribution of weight allows me to scale high inclines with ease and the weight is supported perfectly on the lumbar. Side pocket access for water collection and food/lighting is easy on the waist band. I absolutely love the quick pull out rain cover, it was the cherry on top! Already used on 6 hiking/backpacking trips in the andirondacks. Highly recommend

I ordered this to replace my Aether 70 litre backpack which I used to do 4 caminos in Spain and is now 7 years old but still in great orderSo I have always wanted to try the anti gravity style so I purched this atmos ag 65 . It is truly a great backpack and the ag and mesh system works great and holds lot of stuff in a comfortable manner . The adjustments for belt and torso work great for meI will us it for my next camino primitivo in May for sure

I had a chance to try this on a 10 day trip to the Scottish Highlands. The rucksack is comfortable and has enough padding on the hip belt and shoulder straps to be comfortable even when fully loaded. Mine was around 15kg loaded and didn’t create any discomfort even after 8 hours carrying it. The side bottle pockets are great, allowing easy access to the bottles without taking the bag off. The stretchy front pocket is also a great feature, allowing for a lot of gear to be packed in, a lot more than I thought would be possible. All in all, I really like the bag, despite the fact that it is one of the heavier bags out there when empty. The only issue I had was with the hip belt pockets, which while roomy and useful, I found difficult to zip close with one hand because the zipper is curved and doesn’t quite pull easily with one hand. Other than that, I can’t complain about anything else.

I recently purchased the Osprey Atmos AG 65 Men’s Backpacking Backpack, hoping it would serve as my trusty companion for an upcoming backpacking trip across Europe. While it boasts an impressive anti-gravity system that seems promising for weight distribution, I found it unsuitable for my travel needs. The anti-gravity feature is undeniably a marvel of design. When trying it on, I was struck by how effortlessly the backpack seemed to nullify the weight. Even without packing it to its full capacity, it’s clear that this system could significantly enhance comfort during long periods of wear. However, the backpack’s design left much to be desired for travel purposes. Its intricate layout, complete with a multitude of compartments, cables, and additional features, made it incredibly challenging to organize and access my items. Despite its capacity, I found myself struggling to fit my travel essentials in a practical and easily accessible way.The Atmos AG 65 is also noticeably bulky. Even when empty, it consumes considerable space, which could pose problems when navigating crowded transport hubs or exploring busy city streets. In retrospect, it’s clear that the Atmos AG 65 is more suited for camping or multi-day wilderness hikes rather than backpacking in an urban setting. Its complexity and bulk make it less than ideal for those looking for a streamlined travel companion. After careful consideration, I decided to switch to the Farpoint Trek 55. My hope is that it will cater better to my needs as a backpacker in Europe. I’ll be sure to update my review after experiencing this backpack firsthand. In conclusion, while the Osprey Atmos AG 65 Men’s Backpacking Backpack may offer excellent comfort for extended wear, its design is far too complicated and bulky for practical travel use. If you’re planning a camping trip or a long-distance wilderness hike, this might be a great fit. But for urban backpacking and straightforward packing, you might want to explore other options like I did.

Lots of space without having too many pockets to add weight to the empty pack. Lumbar support is the best I’ve had on any pack of this nature. It does not come with the water bladder so that’s why it loses a star.

I’m a novice backpacker so I don’t have years of experience. However I’ve taken this out to a couple alpine lakes for weekend trips and this does everything I need! Water reservoir pocket/clip. Not only top and bottom access to main pack but also side access. The bungee pocket on the back is perfect for easy access stuff (I.e. rain jacket for quick access.). This has so much adjustability it’s easy to find a sweet spot and it packs tight so even scrambling over logs this pack is solid with the body. Definitely would recommend to a friend especially if found on sale.

After 28 years, I finally retired my Camp Trails 75-liter pack. It’s still got plenty of life left in it, but I was ready for something with a more advanced suspension system and compatible with hydration packs.A few years ago, I bought my son the Osprey Atmos AG 50 and was so impressed that I concluded that the Atmos AG 65 would be my next pack. Finally pulled the trigger this year, and am thoroughly pleased.Things I love:1) Fit and Comfort. I’m a big fan of the AG suspension system. It’s easy to adjust and effectively distributes the weight. It really does make the pack feel lighter than it is.2) Integral Rain Cover. When the rain lets loose on the trail, it’s so nice to just unzip the bottom pouch and pull the rain cover over the pack. When the rain subsides and the cover is dry, just fold it up and zip it back in its dedicated pocket. It’s tethered with a lanyard inside the pouch, but you can remove it if you need to.3) Organization and Access. I like that you can access the main compartment through either side. The sleeping bag compartment is just the right size for my bag, pad, and pillow. The stretchy outer pouch is great for quick stowing of a hoodie or boonie hat. There are enough pockets to be thoughtful about organization but not so many that it’s needlessly complex.4) Torso size adjustment is stupid easy. Some misses:1) The waistband pocket zippers won’t zip closed one-handed, no matter how I try (they curve up and then down again instead of being straight). Kind of a hassle to have to use two hands to close it up. This may vary from pack to pack as another family member with an Atmos AG 65 pack could zip them up one-handed. His was a Large size, so maybe they have different pocket dimensions.2) The bottom of the pack is not flat, so you can’t stand it up on the ground — it has to be leaned up against something, and even then, it wants to tip over or slide out from under itself.Niggles:1) I think I would have preferred dedicated water bottle pouches on each side instead of the dual-access stretchy pouches. They work, though (I use them for sunscreen and bug spray).2) The edges of the brain don’t have a hem that extends down for a tidy mating between it and the main compartment (loved that about the old Camp Trails pack). It doesn’t affect function, but it just doesn’t look as tidy when cinched.3) Not super keen on the color options. Would like to have a grey option, like the women have with the Aura AG 65.4) It’s a bit of a pain to adjust the straps on the brain because they’re underneath. Similar nuisance for the “removable” divider between the main and bottom compartments (have to unzip the side access zipper to get to it, and it’s not a buckle — you have to thread the webbing).5) The strap to hold the hydration bladder could stand to be a little longer so it can sit lower, making more room for the tube to go through the opening in the pack. (I’m using CamelBak hydration bladders; did NOT like the fold-over-style Osprey bladder. At all.)Style Points:1) Emergency whistle molded into the chest strap buckle.2) Waistband cinches pull forward instead of backward. I makes it easier to take up all the slack.3) Mesh suspension system provides some breathability between the pack and me.4) The pull tab on the main compartment cinch makes it so easy to fully open with one pull. All in all, it’s fantastic pack. Just returned from a trip to Red Castle Lake via the Bald Mountain Trail from East Fork Blacks Fork on the north slope of the Uinta mountains in Utah. It’s 10 miles each way with about 2,300 feet of elevation gain and every type of weather. This pack was comfortable the whole way, stayed dry in the rain, and carried everything I needed with ample room.If it has the longevity of the pack it replaced, I’ll be a happy camper! Hah…hahah…Other info in case it’s helpful:I’m 5′ 10″ and 155 lbs and chose the Small/Medium. My total pack weight was 35 lbs (41 if you count my camera, two lenses, and two spare batteries).Primary gear included:> North Face Stormbreak II (love this little tent).> Kelty Cosmic 20 sleeping bag (in a 10L REI compression sack — so tiny!)> Therm-a-Rest X-Therm NXT sleeping pad.> Trekology Aluft 2.0 pillow.> MSR WindoPro II stove and fuel.> Generic NiceShine ditty bags of various sizes (brilliant for organizing stuff)> Sawyer Squeeze water filtration kitAgain — bag, pad, and pillow all fit easily within the sleeping bag compartment of the pack.

Sac de qualité mais je ne comprends pas il manque le rabat si on retire la pochette du haut… ?
I loved how this pack wears for moderate distance hiking. I used it for a 30 mi trip in the AZ desert. 65L is plenty of room for the tent, sleeping bag, hammock, camping inflatable mattress, spare clothes, 4 days of food, small daypack, camping cookware set, 2L water, and water shoes with a little room to spare (if you want extra weight). A definite plus is your back doesn’t get all sweaty due to a gap between your back and the pack. The only complaint I have is that it won’t stand up on its own on the ground. It must lean on something due to the bags shape. It’s always falling over if it’s not laying on the ground.

Yet another case of NiceShine buying up rejects and selling them on to the UK. Straps faulty, product covered in sweat (who knows how many times this bag has been bought, tested and returned). A certain billionaire has made himself rich through this kind of deceit. This should be one of the two most important parts of your hiking kit (the other being your boots). Do yourself a favour and save your self time and hassle by buying from a High Street store where you can ‘see’ the item before parting with cash.

I took this out on a canyoneering trip and the pack was the least of my concerns which was awesome given how much I filled the bag. It has tons of straps to make it very adjustable, it’s material is high quality, it has pockets in great locations, and the weight distribution is excellent. I did slip in some mud and it easily gunked up the lower zippers making it much tougher to open then before. I wish that wouldn’t so easily happen but I’m happy to look past that given how excellent everything else is.You won’t go wrong getting this pack. I can’t wait to use it again.

I wanted to like this backpack and in the store the backpack was comfortable. Unfortunately, on the trail with 50lbs of weight in it the size small/medium does not fit a size 28 or 29 inch waist. I am 5′ 6″ with a 29″ pant waist (28″ actual waist size) and weigh 135-140lbs. Even adjusted to its smallest size with the Velcro wings unextended, I could not get the waist area tight enough or comfortable, also my hips would go numb bc of how the pack rested on my hips, not enough padding. I tried adjusting the torso adjustment perfectly but could not get comfortable on my hips. I could not walk a quarter mile without numbness. The hip straps were too wide(vertically) and not padded enough. The bottom of the strap would cut into my waist and cut off circulation. I had to release the waist strap and carry the weight on my back instead which defeated the purpose. I own 4 Osprey backpacks/daypacks under 30 liters in size and this being my first backpacking backpack, thought Osprey would be the best. I was glad REI let me get a different pack after using this pack for a backpacking trip. My friends had Gregory backpacking backpacks and so I tried the men’s Gregory Katmai 65 S/M. When it was loaded with weight, I was perfectly comfortable and none of the issues the Osprey backpack was giving me. I think my hips are just too boney for the osprey to accommodate my hips comfortably. Unlike the Osprey, the Gregory hip belt moves with your hips, is more tailored and says it fits down to a 25 waist. The Osprey claims it fits down to a 28 waist but more realistically fits down to a 29+ or 30 waist. If you have a small waist and skinny frame, then the Osprey may not fit you comfortably when loaded with 50lbs+

This might be enough for those that backpack with little gear, but we like to take lots of food on our 8 day trips to the Yosemite Wilderness and the reduced capacity is giving us pause. Other than that recommend this bag.

Loved way it was designedI have Stratos 36 and this just larger versionSadly I had to return it because I wanted it for treestand huntingThe 2 shades of green and some black looks good but afraid deer would see itMaterial excellent durable but too noisy for huntingI know OSPREY dosen’t target hunters sadly so it was my fault but I really wanted it to work I loved the top lid with a nice zippered compartmentHikers would love it and it easily holds several days of gearThanks for reading!

Has plenty of storage and everything is great quality, from the zippers to the clips. Also comfort is great as well. Maybe consider ordering a size up mine was a bit on the tight side.

It’s big enough to fit everything I need for a camping trip. It’s also a very comfortable wear.

Why is the color on the product image for the mythical green much nicer than the actual product….. the actual product is shiny and bright, I purchased this mythical green cause the product image is really nice but beware actual product color is different. Other than that best pack out there in terms of comfort.

Shuhrat Khalilov –
lots of good words have been said about Atmos 65 AG, so I would only like to mention a sturdiness and design. Very comfy in any way, but perhaps i ordered a lesser size for my torso, therefore i feel a little discomfort my backneck area. That’s it. Close to perfectness

I use it for hiking. I don’t want to hike with other backpacks anymore.

Love it. Just FYI I am 5’7 male 190lbs and I have the strap size adjustment as small it goes . It fits me well. Not sure my 5’5 wife could use it

Fit is great, holds a ton of stuff and very comfortable. One of the best backpacks I have ever owned, the suspension system is great and keeps you cool.
