First unit was DOA (evidently damaged in shipping). Took a while but replacement unit is running fine. Need to adjust timer for thinner ice cubes so they break apart easier. Replaced drain hose with braided hose since our installation tended to kink hose (just readily available braided 1/2″ ID hose works great). Nice that this unit is front grill discharge of cooling air. Was quick install and nice to have a working ice machine again.

I am real happy with the Ice Maker, it is compact and fits in the small area of the Kitchen where I want to put it. I first built a stand to elevate it and now am ready to hook it up. My husband works 10 to 12 hours a daily in a petrochemical plant as a quality control officer. That means he is IN the field, no shade, no trees, no breeze in deep east Texas. I got the ice maker for him to use in his cooler to keep his water bottles cold, & it is , no exaggeration, a life-saver in 100 degree plus days! He has to refill the cooler daily, & the ice maker performs perfectly, & dependably. It is TOTALLY worth the money!

The customer service department of this company took over when NiceShine still hadn’t shipped this icemaker 2 months after it was ordered during NiceShine Days in July. When I checked with NiceShine, they said it was “no longer available”. When I checked with Giganti, they said to cancel the order and recorder and they would honor the NiceShine Day price. I did as they asked and the icemaker was delivered to the gift recipient 2 days later, well-packaged and undamaged. The person who was gifted took a little while to connect to their existing water line, but now that that’s accomplished, they say it’s working well and looks nice.

Ok, After receiving two non-working units the manufacturer did make it right. This replacement works perfectly! Made a bin full of ice in less than 6 hours. The ice is the good clear cold ice, not that half frozen soft ice that melts quickly. Very please with this working model! Good price for the value. FYI, makes 63 – 3/4×3/4×1 ice cubes every 14 mins! Held the bin full of ice throughout the night.

This has made my life so much easier at my coffee shop. It’s small enough to fit perfectly under the counter. The only thing I don’t like is this little silicone plug (circled). The ice doesn’t come out already broken up, so you have to break the ice up with your ice scoop. Sometimes the plug will come out and get lost in the ice. Other than that, this thing works great!

Ordered the machine and it arrived with a few small issues. I messaged with the customer service and they were VERY responsive and helpful. They resolved my issues and sent me the replacement parts etc. Even offered a refund if I wasn’t happy. All of the descriptions were accurate. We received our ice maker and when our summer kitchen was done we installed the machine. But unfortunately didn’t work. That was on Thanksgiving day, I call the customer service and they was so attentive. They tried to solve the issue, but when they realize the machine is not working they send a new one, and gave a upgrade ice machine. Until the new machine arrives they sent me emails everyday. It makes ice quicklyWhat I didn’t like:1. The stainless steel is covered in a white protective film that is difficult to remove, even with the recommended hair dryer technique2. The thermal design is marginal a. The heat blows out at the bottom front below the poorly sealed transparent door b. The transparent door does not seal well (you can see the blue light shining through in several places) and does not provide much insulating value c. Regardless of why, the bottom line is that the ice melts pretty quickly if left running 24hrs d. I am measuring .75 to 1.5 gallons of melted water per day depending on ambient temperature (with nominal cube size 0 and running 24hrs)SummaryI suppose it is a good design for use during parties or events. It makes lots of ice fast, but you need to use it fast or it will melt away. As an everyday ice machine, it has limited value, since the ice melts down the drain eventually. Many ice makers work this way (no freezer function), but their thermal design is better and the insulation of the ice container area is significantly better. Using the timer feature to turn the unit off at night helps a fair amount, as does increasing the ice size. Using the timer (off 8 hours at night) and increasing the ice size (+4) reduces the water waste to about 1/2 gallon per day, which is marginally acceptable.

Update: The manufacturer as responded to the issues with the offer of a larger ice machine at no charge.I’ve already sent the unit back for a credit and purchased another machine. They have been responsive to my issues, so I gave them one more star in hopes their engineering of the product will overcome the issues.Where do I start. The water pump stopped after the 1st block of ice and I had to remove and unblock it. The drain hose is cheap and kinks with no relief. I had to get a better one from Home Depot. Tub drain leaked and spilled water all over the floor. I had to patch it but the water had saturated the foam under the ice bin and keep dripping for days. Ice sheets have little or no adjustment factor. It makes a lot of ice, but adjustments don’t seem to make any difference in the thickness of the ice. Last straw was the wimpy water line inside the unit burst and flooded my garage see picture of this cheap piece of plastic tubing. I’m returning the unit for a refund.

UPDATE: I’ve changed my rating for one simple reason: amazing customer service. Gilati, specifically Tina, enagged me right away with constant communication and problem solving. In the end, they ended up giving me a full refund and let me keep the original icemaker. Again, Tina was amazing. Thank you!I have followed the directions, and no matter what I do, the ice won’t stay frozen. It is constantly melting and filling the tub with water. I don’t know what else to do. And, I have searched NiceShine and the internet for a customer service # to ask for technical help…but cannot find a # anywhere. Even on the NiceShine listing above, there is a graphic that says 24/7 customer support and when you click on that graphic it just opens another tab with the same NiceShine Prime ad. HELP PLEASE!!!

WE have had this ice maker for about 3 months. We had a Kenmore that we had for several years but it quit working and needed major repairs. We had paid about $1200 for that one years ago. We looked at similar ice makers but all were that much or higher. When I saw this one, I didn’t think I would like it because it doesn’t look like my old ones which had a solid door like refrigerators. I thought this one would look too “industrial” for my kitchen, and at the price I just didn’t think it would be any good. Well I was surprised. I actually love the way it looks in my kitchen – I love the blue light and the clear door, and it just does a great job. You can set how long it takes to make ice – I like it at 5 minutes because the ice breaks up better when it falls. I am so happy with this unit and would highly recommend it! We left the white cover on it, but may take it off at some point in time. For the price this unit is just amazing!!!

Very impressed with the ice making rate and quality! I really like the option to adjust how fast each sleeve of ice is produced and the hardness. In 8 minutes this thing is dropping enough ice for a full glass of ice. I use it for my coolers regularly and an hour later there is plenty of ice. I also like the blue light. Kind of cool!

Ice maker delivered on time, installation was simple. Had an issue with a water line and the seller was very quick with response and solution. The machine produces ice quickly in about 12 minutes. Cubes are good size and the storage is good keeping the ice from melting too fast. Can’t beat it for the price.

We put this under the counter in our laundry room. It works great! It keeps ice made fairly often. We have been able to bag some up and even take it to events.We did hook up an external filter to our water source and got a water pump for the drain as it only had a gravity drain.The only critique is that the machine isn’t very quiet. But since we put it in the laundry room we don’t hear it too much. Also, the blue light doesn’t turn off and is quite bright. We can close the laundry door to eliminate the sound and light it produces. But overall, for the value, I would recommend!

Nice little ice maker. Would have given it 5 stars except it is kind of loud when the ice drops. Love that it just stops making ice when it is full. The ice could break up a bit better. Sometimes comes down in sheets, but you can break it up with the ice scoop. Cheaper than many that make as much as quickly as it does, so that’s definitely a plus.

We purchased this unit for a small commercial workplace after the built-in ice maker on our freezer could no longer maintain the amount of ice needed, and eventually quit working. This unit was very simple to install through replacing the fridge-unit ice maker water line with this unit’s line, then running the drain line.

This ice machine works great so far. Installation was fairly easy for my husband. Makes a little noise when the ice is dropping and making ice, but not bad at all. I also like the look of the machine. The only issue we have is that the drain is not level so if you let the ice melt or turn the machine off you will always have standing water in the machine. We also had a small issue with the interior light going off, but after emailing the company they responded quickly and easily resolved the issue that was due to owner error. We are really happy with this purchase.

It works as advertised. I thought I could j a drain tube into my crawl space for the minimal water drainage. It puts off way more drainage water that I anticipated. I had to run the drain line into my house drainage system. But the machine works great. The kids love always have ice ready to fill their water bottles in their way out the door to school. It’s quiet, and efficient. The unit isn’t 100%sealed off, so the ice melts faster than I’d hope and the door doesn’t always close tight when pushed closed…. But I’ve made a few tweaks to it and it’s hold the ice longer.

Great Ice Maker. It’s stylish with its blue night light, quiet and cranks out a lot of ice in various size cubes. But if you plan on having it on the floor you will have to purchase additional equipment to get rid of the water as the unused ice melts. The customer service representative that I worked with (Tina) was very helpful and was quick to respond to all my questions and troubleshooting possible causes of my problem. The fault was not their own because in the description it does state that the Ice Maker’s hose works with gravity for drainage. But with the cost of the Ice Maker, the water pump should have been included or at least suggested upon ordering to avoid the drainage issue. All in all excellent customer service and a beautiful machine.

Ater sending a replacement pump, machine still wasn’t producing ice. Tina decided I needed a replacemnt unit. Arrived in 5 days & no issues at all. I purchased this 9 months ago. It blew me away until the last couple of weeks. We use a lot of ice in my house, it’s summer & south florida….. Every night i now come home to very little melted ice. Why you ask? Because I keep having an E2 error. It has water going to it. That’s not the issue. The issue is the drop flap is not sensing it’s back in position… I have no way to fix it or i would. Now it’s not dropping water… the machine thinks it’s making ice but it’s not

We purchased the commercial ice machine for our bagel shop. The machine stopped producing ice after a few weeks. I contacted Gilanti tech support who was very responsive. Ordered this ice maker based off the reviews and ratings. Been remodeling the kitchen so bought this last November and just got it installed a few weeks ago. First ice maker had a faulty compressor and water line that burst. We had water leaking into basement but I was able to get to it in time and dry everything out. Received the replacement which had better hose in it and in first cycle had ICE! We now have a bin full of ice and that part of the remodel is done. Customer service was very helpful and easy to deal with. They helped every step of the way and got the return pushed thru since I was past the initial time because remodel wasn’t ready at that time.

Makes ice works good, it’s an ice maker not a freezer. It makes ice doesn’t keep ice. So have a drain near by. It keeps making ice as it melts though. Freezing element is only in the cube maker, no fan to keep ice storage cold.Easy install, comes with a plug in 1/4” water line with a female 1/2” pipe thread fitting to connect to home water line.

When I first received the unit I noticed a loose proximity sensor hanging by a wire next to the water pump. That sensor is used to turn the unit on when the ice level is low, and off when it is full. I called the service number and left a voicemail message telling them what I had found. In the meantime, I figured out where it was supposed to go so I popped it in place and the unit started working properly. Shortly after that I received a call from the company asking how they could help. Fortunately, I had figured it out and didn’t need help, although they were quick to respond.

I purchases this ice maker for home use. The first one we received worked for a day and then it stopped making ice. I reaches out to the manufacturers and they wanted me to do a series of repairs to it. I made some adjustments to the machine bit after the third attempt I told them I shouldn’t be repairing a machine that is “new”. They were quick to send me a new machine. So far the new machine is working as it should.

We’ve had the ice maker for about 6 months now and it’s still working great! The first machine we received did not work and it took a bit of back and forth with customer service to diagnose but the online service rep was outstanding. We were sent a new ice maker after it was determined the compressor wasn’t working. The replacement has had no problems and we’ve been using it nonstop. My husband and a plumber friend were able to hook it up – it was kind of a pain but for the price, it was well worth it!

Customer service after this review was posted has been very good and while I appreciate the free ice maker, it doesn’t change this product’s review. I now question any reviews on NiceShine, since it appears that unseen negative reviews might have been quickly bribed away.Original Review:It makes ice fairly quick but if you specify that the ice should be thicker, when it falls out of the ice maker try, it fails to break up and remains in the holding tray as one big sheet of ice cubes instead of individual cubes. You’ll need to keep a club or hammer handy to break up the ice sheets into individual cubes. If you specify thinner ice, it will break up when it leaves the ice maker tray, but it is so thin, it starts melting almost immediately and is laughable to put in a drink or ice chest.The machine is not insulated, so the ice begins to melt as soon as it is made and the water drains out of a hose on the back bottom of the unit. You’ll need to connect this hose to a drain line or set it by a floor drain. This is not optional. And of course, they used the cheapest glue possible to connect the hose to the bottom of the ice holding area (see picture), so it leaks badly and has the potential to flood your nice hardwood floor or your downstairs neighbor. Can’t trust it when you go out of town.It also had lots of water leaking out from the bottom of the ice maker. It wasn’t from the water supply line or the drain line (which also leaked, as stated above). The water is from the copper compressor lines running in the back of the ice maker, from the condenser to the compressor. The lines freeze over and melt constantly as ice is being made. There is nowhere for the condensation to drain to, other than on the floor under the Ice Maker, and this was unacceptable in my 5th floor apartment, since it will eventually soak through the floor and damage the apartment under me.I tried putting insulation around the copper lines, but they eventually soak and leak the water to the bottom of the unit and onto the floor. The video shows the water, and my effort at insulating the lines to stop the condensation.I could not convince the customer service people that the water wasn’t just from the drain line, which appears to be a known problem. I was three weeks past the return date (due to installation labor issues), and while NiceShine did take it back, it was prorated steeply.I’d advise staying away from this machine and all the ones like it (under different brands, but I suspect they are all the same poor quality). I removed a Kenmore Icemaker that worked great for 20 years and that didn’t need a drain line at all, and replaced it with this cheaply made product that was defective on day one.

Update-still great after 1 month. We installed an RO filter system a few days after the initial review, replacing a cheap single filter. The ice tastes better and went from cloudy to perfectly clear.I researched many ice makers before choosing this one. It appears to be higher quality than most of its competitors. It does indeed produce a lot of ice, way more than a family could consume on its own. We’ve had two previous portable ice makers that couldn’t hold a candle to this one.I would suggest that you use a water filter in line with this or any similar ice maker. I believe that people who have reported an inside line breaking have an over pressure situation. There is a small stopper on the right side of the water tray, push it in before usage in case it is loose from shipping (we had this issue); if it falls out water will constantly drain and it won’t make ice (E2 error I think on the display).This uses a 1/4 flex plastic inlet and a larger flex plastic low pressure gravity drain line for melted ice water. These larger ice makers do not recirculate water like their smaller counterparts. If your drain is higher than the outlet you will likely need a small assisting pump.Their customer service is excellent, beyond what one would normally expect. We had some shipping damage and ended up working with them.

Makes ice, but most important customer support is great! After the first ice machine didn’t work, and it had been past the 30 day window for NiceShine to replace or refund, the manufacturer was quick to help me troubleshoot the machine. They eventually just sent me a new one at no cost and I didn’t have to return the old one that was malfunctioning.**new machine is still running and making ice after a couple weeks of use so far. I found it very easy to hook up once you know where you are hooking up to the supply.And I will say again, the customer service is wonderful!!

This machine makes the ice! And quick! 12 min each time and it is filled up in no time! My only guff i have about it is it specifically stated it holds 35lbs in the storage bin but this is untrue! Once full, I took every bit out and weighed it and it only holds 12.5 lbs. Not nearly enough for what I needed. But if I keep it empty, it will fill up quickly, making plenty throughout the day! If you’re looking, this is the one for you!!

I bought this for a vacation home that I am always running for cooler ice. I could have bought a lifetime of ice for the cost of this but I just really like the idea of having it. Plus, ice cost did just about double over last season. I went with this brand over less expensive options because the reviews were so positive on their customer support. It’s true. Mine arrived with no visible shipping damage. However, it would not pump water. The support team was responsive and assured me I would have a satisfactory resolution. We got the pump to work and it’s been making ice all day, outside in 90 degree weather. I did put a shade umbrella over it until I can get it to its permanite home. So far very pleased!

Well, not the cheapest thing but far from the most expensive. Works fine. Worth the money. Trick is to keep the float and valve clean. I bought the expensive one, a Scotsman, and it was nothing but trouble. So I am happy with this and can recommend it.Update…Well bought one in 2022 and it is still working fine, BUT the fill tube inside the machine split, water gushing for hours until discovered. Fortunately the external fill tube is very long so I cut a piece of that and replace the internal line.So my only complaint is about the internal fill tube, and the external drain tube which is the same low end material.I would ask the manufacturer to use better materials there.Else it is still running well.Make sure you give it a good cleaning periodically, especially the float valve assembly,

I received the first ice maker, it worked great for 2-days. After that the ice kept getting thinner and thinner so I had to turn up the freeze time. On the 3rd day, only the top half of the freeze grid would freeze and the bottom half would make little tiny cubes. By the end of the 3rd day, the entire grid was making little cubes that would melt on the thaw cycle and fall down onto the full paddle and just melt in the water cascade.Thus, it ended up being a perpetual cycle of making little cubes that fell down onto the paddle without enough weight to lower it, they would slide up against the waterfall and melt.So I returned the unit for a new one. I received the new one, installed it, and guess what? This one lasted 4-days. It did exactly the same thing. At first, it worked great and I was happy, then it just spiraled down and eventually on day-4 was doing exactly the same thing as the first unit. It is like is was not getting cold enough.I set it to the longest freeze time and it just would not make ice. Little tiny nublets of ice ejected, fell down into the water bin and just recycled. Producing nothing.Final opinion, don’t waste your money or time. I am very frustrated with the time I spent on this stupid low quality machine. Lesson, you get what you pay for. I bought it because it was the size I wanted. It was a mistake.I have to admit, NiceShine has been very responsive to my issue and has not argued the return at all. But, if you do buy this machine, hang onto the box and styrofoam so you have something to send it back in.

We have had this icemaker installed for one week. Self installed, but replaced an older ice maker.Started making ice within 13 minutes. Filled the bin in a couple of hours. Great looking machine and great ice. Our friends, who have a Scottsman, were here and really liked how the Gilati looked and worked. Might have started to feel bad about spending over $3,000 on theirs when they liked ours better.Overall, great machine. I did replace the drain tube with something a little firmer so it wouldn’t kink against the wall when put in place (because I’m picky). About a $10 fix/upgrade. Overall, great purchase.

It works well. We get the amount of ice that we excepted when we use it. The ice taste a little off because of a lack of a water filter on our water line. There was a small scratch on the side when we unboxed it though.

Removing the protective covering from the stainless steel was tedious and required me to disassemble the machine to get it all off. Expect to make a trip to the hardware store to collect necessary fittings to connect to the water supply, especially if you desire to install an in-line water filter for the best ice quality. Very happy with the amount and quality of ice produced, and the count-down timer of the cycle is a great feature. The cascading water over the freezer cube tray during the ice-making cycle does spatter on to the window and causes some of the existing ice to get wet and melt. As a result this machine can be a water hog: 2/3rds of the water is turned into ice; 1/3rd goes down the drain. Be sure you have a good way to deal with the condensate/ice melt, either with a floor/gravity drain, or an external catch basin w/ float switch and electric pump. I purchased this unit to replace an existing in-home wet bar unit, which only lasted 3 years before flaking out. This unit was 1/2 the cost and is working very well. I reused the existing “sump pump” for the condensate/melt that was purchased and plumbed for the original unit.

I rarely leave reviews, but felt obligated to do so for this ice machine. The customer service is unbelievable (in a good way). The first machine only worked for a day and then wouldn’t get cold enough to make ice. A service rep, Tina, was in constant contact with suggestions and tips (that didn’t work) to find a resolution. After a few failed attempts, she sent a replacement that arrived a few days later. The new ice maker works great! Makes a ton of ice in just a few hours. This ice maker works great. The ice cubes are perfect size and we never run out of ice with it producing a tray every twenty minutes and stops when full. Even has a count down clock and an interior light when cleaning or just ambiance. Great purchase and very good price.

Ordered this Ice maker in stainless steel and it came wrapped in white protective film. It is hard to remove it because the parts of the machine were wrapped before the machine was put together. It takes a lot of time and patience to get it unwrapped. It does the work though. Wouldn’t call it commercial but it’s ok for home use.

This machine is alot a good ice machine.Blue light is pretty. The storage capacity is wrong, I’ve tested over the past month every single thickness and settings and it doesn’t hold 35lbs of ice. IT IS STILL A GOOD MACHINE though! Just for the purpose I needed this capacity for, it does not work well for me. I need to be able to fill up 2-3cheer coolers of drinks with ice.

Ice maker is great and makes a lot of ice. Very easy to get setup. The ice maker isn’t a freezer so the ice melts over time and drains. Had a slight issue when starting the machine where water was spraying. I emailed customer service and they promptly sent me a video tutorial on how to fix it. I’ve never dealt with customer service this great, especially for a product in this price range.

I purchased this ice maker in March of 2023. After almost 1 year of having it, the machine stopped producing ice. I emailed Gilati directly and Tina assisted me with troubleshooting some things. I am very pleased with this versatile ice maker. It was easy to set up and came with instructions anyone could follow. It will plug in anywhere and starts making ice within a few minutes. The control panel is easy to use and operate. At home it can be used anywhere such as a gathering spot in the kitchen or a home bar. I expect to use it for entertainment on a back yard porch or poolside for special occasions. You could even take it with you on trips such as camping, fishing, hunting or tailgating at a sporting event. Within a couple of days of receiving the ice maker customer service contacted me to make sure I was satisfied with the product and gave me contact information for questions and help with registration for warranty. That rarely happens anymore so I am pleasantly surprised by their support. Love the product and the customer service.

The customer service people are very good. The product was a constant issue. Yes, it makes ice. The drain line was constantly getting kinked and the water would back up in the ice. In addition, there is a button inside the unit that gets moved easily. No ice if the button is not pushed in. This product depends on gravity. Make sure your drain line is below the drain outlet on the machine.

Shout out to customer support. The water line broke after a short period of use. After a long period of time decided to fix, was quite simple, wish had done sooner. There has been an update since. After fixing the water line the machine would not turn on. Contacted customer support, had a response within 4 hours, with suggestions of possible fixes. None worked so they sent a new updated control panel. Remember this is a year after any warranty would be valid. Huge shout out to gilati and their customer support for standing behind their product.

The ice maker is really easy to use, the most important part of it is that it makes ice even when its really hot. The design in general is quite interesting but the process of building the cubes works great, after a few hours the whole chamber was filled with ice. It comes with a blue light that after a while it gets annoying, but don’t worry it can be turned off.Setting it up was a breeze, just connect the water supply (I have a water filter) and the water disposal to your drain, plug it in and you are set. Initially give it a few hours, because it needs to adjust and climatize the chamber so ice can be produced.Initially I got one and it was defective, I took more than 30 days to return it so it was out of NiceShine’s 30 day guarantee but working w/ the merchant I was able to get it replaced.In general great service and a good ice maker, so if you are looking for one, this is for you.

To me, this ice maker is total China JUNK. I had NiceShine pick it up (returned). I am writing this for the benefit of NiceShine buying office, as well as consumers looking at this product.WHAT IS WRONG. The front door, which is supposed to be a magnetic seal, doesn’t work. NOT magnetic. The slightest touch swings this flimsy plastic door open. The front face frame (see photos) is SO poorly put together that there is a gap along on whole top edge, allowing the warm air outside to come in and prematurely melt the newly made ice. the metal face frame of the door (see photo 1) doesn’t even line up flush it’s made so junky.I purchased a ice maker from NiceShine at my other house (sold it with the house) and it was fabulous. Quality, operation, everything. THIS unit I returned, which was $499, was total junk. The ice below, due to the horrible gaps at the ice door, was partially melted in less than 20 minutes. What a joke. I would not recommend this unit to anyone.

Been making ice now for almost a month no problems. Customer service is excellent. Holds ice overnight with not too much melt, and using in the garage in florida. Actually holds about 14lbs of ice if chopped up properly so don’t get your hopes up for 35lbs as stated, but it does make quality ice cubes nicely. And compact enough to fit in a small space. Overall it’s a keeper.

How can’t brag enough about gilati customer service. Our machine stopped working so I contacted them and they sent a new motherboard (free) but it still didn’t work. It took several videos and pictures it was finally decided we crossed put 2 wires in the wrong place. They sent a picture showing what to change. Did it and now the machine is working.One more thing the very first machine we got we could tell the box was damaged so we just opened that part and the door was busted. Contacted them they immediately sent another machine and had us return the broken one when we got the new one in the same shipment (no charge) . The product looks used and has already been sent to another customer, as the box has other labels with another sender for another buyer. The parts came all loose inside, the finish is poor, full of openings in the seams allowing cold air to escape. The front cover is all out of adjustment, one part lower than the other.
