The Flip 6 really surprised me. I seriously did not expect such ‘big’ sound from such a small, portable speaker. For its size, the bass is pretty amazing. Its not boomy at all like cheap ‘bass-boosted’ speakers, however, its not extremely tight like a studio monitor either. But for what it is it sounds pretty amazing.The mids do seem just a little scooped (just a little) but very clear. The highs are crisp, up front, and not fatiguing. The overall sound really is almost perfect. Is it flat? Oh, definitely not, but you’re not buying this for mixing or critical listening.After a lot of testing I did use the app to bump the low and high EQ up one notch. For low to medium volumes this improves an already great sound a little more. I did not boost the mids even though they sound a little scooped as the jump from center to one notch sounds a little much to me. I have not tested this at very high volumes much as its not applicable to how I use it (I don’t like really loud noise or music).Battery life, of course, is not 12 hours. I have been getting 7-8 hours at half volume or less. I did a couple of tests at 50% volume playing a mix of podcasts and music and got 6 hours when playing mostly music and about 8 hours when playing mostly podcasts. Good enough for me – I use it a total of about 2 hours a day, so this still gives me several days in between charges.Bluetooth range is excellent as are most bluetooth products made withing the last 5 years. Line if sight is at least 50 feet – I didn’t test beyond that as I don’t need it. Wall penetration is outstanding. I was outside on my upstairs porch using it while my phone was inside downstairs (both near a south facing wall) about 20 feet apart in a straight line though 1 floor, 1 interior wall, and 1 exterior wall. No skips, stutters or disconnects.Forgot to mention all my testing and use has been with an iPhone SE 3rd Gen. I don’t really use any other bt devices.If this breaks after at least a year, I will certainly buy a new one. I’ve used this for at least a couple of hours every day since I received it.

So let start off by I’m old school when it comes to selecting speaker. I have a massive surround system that sound great! I stumbled across the little speaker by accident. So I was doing a cell phone upgrade and they asked if I wanted a Bluetooth speaker versus 2 wireless stands… I opted for the Bluetooth speaker as I had 2 wireless stands that work great. So I hooked this little flip 6 up and was amazed by the sound of this little thing. So I was doing a bit of research and finding that I could hook other speakers. So I opted to pick up another flip 6 and put them into stereo mode. I was floored by the sound out of these little speakers and the stereo field was amazing too!!! So then I was wanting to see how the charge 5 would stack up and then combine them. The one charge 5 has an edge on the bass but the mids and highs of the flip 6 held there ground and sounded a bit better to me. Now I starting thinking of 2.1 sound and this is where everything just shined very bright. Have the best of both worlds highs mids and lows in 3 small speakers!!! Some of the music that I demonstrate in this set up was Rush – The Weapon.. this has some really nice percussion section with some stereo left to right separation. I also played Led Zeppelin’s- Stairway To Heaven for the same reasons or the stereo left to right separation and over rounded sound. Great news it passes with flying colors and I give these 5 stars all day long. I’d like to pick up the extreme 3 and give it a go in this set up as it has the AUX jack that would make it useful enough to hook up external AM/FM with USB and SD card. In closing don’t overlook these speaker I really enjoy my little speaker and I’m sure you’ll love too!!!! Update with about a week of playing some music and experimenting. The flip 6 turn on its end with tweeters up will produce the best sound and great sound stage. It does better in the vertical position cause the woofer and tweeter vertically aligned give better sound stage hence the vertical axis. Now pair it with a second and you’ll have killer stereo mode. And the charge 5 to the center and you will love the sound as it acts like a sub reinforcement.

My wife and I bought this because our JBL Flip 3 is so good and we wanted to have one we could keep at home and and church or other events we sing at. We use it sometimes at church for praise music accompaniment and the sound is big enough to go out into the sanctuary. My only complaint is the start up and turn-turn off sound. I guess they have a good reason for it being in place, but they could have come up with a more friendly one or the option of turning it off.

The speakers are really good. I bought two so I have stereo sound. You have to silence your notifications because some time a text or whatever will come through and one of the speaker will click or cut out but only for a second. So it’s not a big deal at all. If you can buy 2! Glad I bought them.

The JBL is a bargin compared to the Bose Mini. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big Bose fan. I have a few of their products. Being honest they are pretty proud of their name. You pay for it! The JBL is waterproof which my bose is not. The JBL sound is on par with the Bose as well. My wife has had the JBL for a year or so and we just purchased two more for our adult sons. We are all impressed with the quality of these speakers. We had an older member of the family say to me, “Is all that sound coming out of that little speaker?.” The JBL and the Bose both are so impressive in that way. Certainly mind blowing if you are old enough to have the old component system with tower speakers that took up a wall.

I tried out a few different speakers and this one definitely wins. the quality is just amazing, like you can hear all the different instruments very clearly, and its very loud for such a small speaker. the battery life on it is great, it lasts a very long time on a full charge (i haven’t calculated exactly, but i used it for a long time without charging it). and its also very small and compact which makes it easy to carry around. I also linked it to my friends JBL for a party and it was great!

Love this little speaker for the music I (and most of us) listen to. Extremely bass heavy, so it’s great for the thumping stuff; not sure it would do well for classical music.Even with adjustment, it’s a little muddy for voices (eg, audible books), but it does the job. If I’m gonna compromise, it’ll be on that, not on music.So, I am entirely happy with it as an all-purpose speaker. It connects fast and reliably and has plenty range (past most people’s normal listening distance).It’s compact and robust. Very happy that its controls can be distinguished in the dark and be used without worries even when I’m wearing gloves or have damp, dirty hands.I got lucky with a Black Friday deal.Oh, and a lot of choices for cases exist. I wanted a stash case – not while-in-use – with full protection. The clamshell cases are cute, and some are offered in (possibly) matching colors. But I didn’t want to fiddle with a long stitched hinge and a cornered zipper (both presenting stress points) so I kept looking and found a cylindrical case with a top that zips open. I upgraded from a dinky little Apple home speaker to this and I was immediately impressed. The clear sound quality and bass was unmatched to any other small speaker. This thing can get LOUD! I usually have it under half volume and I can hear clearly throughout my condo. It’s waterproof but I’m not interested in testing that function. I love the little sound it makes when you power it on and off. It’s also very simple and quick to connect to your device via Bluetooth.

I thought about returning this at first because I was replacing a JBL extreme and the bass just can’t compare but the sound on this thing is amazing! The mids and highs are so clean and crisp and the volume gets loud without compromising quality. Really impressed. I’d say this is the kind of speaker you want for listening to podcasts, audio books, TV or taking on the road. Voices sound great on it. The little subwoofers are just enough to give them a full sound. For music though, I need more bass. Even music that isn’t bass heavy, it just doesn’t do it for me. Since this speaker pairs with other JBL speakers, I’m gonna buy a second, larger one, for music.

Great speaker, good volume, works in most work settings. But absolutely NOT recommended for work areas that has high metal dust content. Worked good for 2 months then 2 speakers went out on it due to the speakers attracting steel dust. Still produces sound, but not very much. So in any other work Conditions this is a good speaker, but not for steel fab shops.

It’s not waterproof if you have an exposed charging port. It says if water or other debris is present an alarm will sound and you must clean it. Why didn’t they put a plug over it?

I am impressed the the sound quality. I wanted this for indoor use in various locations. I discovered that sound quality is enriched by placing on the floor in a corner where 2 walls meet. When I do this, I rotate the speaker to determine the best placement for sound quality while on the floor.I really like how easy it is to set up as well as how portable it is. I have even used this in my car to listen to an audio book on my phone.I think it is a great value for its price, especially since it compares favorably to some Sonos speakers I also own. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone.

So I was getting ready to send this back until I bought the Xtreme 4 and party paired them. It makes a world of difference. I keep the Flip in my shoulder bag and Xtreme on the front of my scooter and it sounds like a car stereo system. It’s compact and light. Seriously impressed for the weight and size of this combo.

For listening to music in the living room or outside, the Flip 6 is really good, but when I watch movies or podcasts with the volume turned down, I still have trouble hearing conversations, because the application allows you to reduce bass and increase it but it doesn’t really allow you to increase treble, yet I was shocked when I used the VLC equalizer, I heard every detail in the movies because the sound was clear, even when the volume was low, I hope JBL can fix this in an update, it would be great.

I’m so glad I bought this. I use it daily I have other Bluetooth speakers but they can’t home a candle light to this JBL. The sound quality is awesome it blows away my sound bar & its water proof. I got it for a great price,but if I had to replace it I’d definitely pay the full price. It connects easily to my Samsung phone you can take it just about anywhere. I’ve dropped if a couple if times but if didn’t hurt it one bit, very durable. If has great range. It fits great in my shower

Sorta bummed with this product. The battery life is definitely not 12 hours like advertised. While I definitely have the volume turned up, it’s nowhere near max volume and I’m lucky if I get 4.5 hours of playtime from a full charge. Another issue I have is when playing music while charging, the battery will still slowly drain to the point where I have to turn it off, let it charge some, then I can turn it back on and continue listening while its charging.Pros – It feels durable, the sound produced is definitely clean and very clear with good bass. I like the way it looks.If it wasn’t for the issues I have with the battery, I would have no problem giving this product 5 stars.
